🖤 ATHLETE OF THE MONTH 🧡
This month we’re celebrating Janessa whose resilience, determination, and positive attitude have inspired our entire community. After suffering a complete ACL tear in January and undergoing surgery in February, she has continued to show up, put in the work, and attack her recovery with the same grit she brings to every workout. 👏🔥
While the road back is still ongoing, she’s already proving that strength built inside the gym carries over far beyond it. So much so that her PT is running out of hard enough exercises for her!
Here’s a snapshot of her CrossFit journey so far:

💭 How CrossFit impacts everyday life:
“After my injury, CrossFit showed me how important strength is. I wouldn’t have been able to do everyday tasks on my own—getting dressed, using the bathroom, standing up, and sitting down. Because of CrossFit, I was able to remain semi-independent throughout my recovery.”
💪 Biggest breakthrough:
Achieving handstand walks—something she never thought she’d be able to do. And she’s determined to get them back again. 🙌
🏆 Proudest accomplishment:
“Being able to get back to working out after surgery. Because of CrossFit, I’m recovering much faster than most and surprising my physical therapists with what I’ve been able to accomplish in such a short period of time. It’s a long road back to normal, but thanks to CrossFit, that road is a lot shorter.”
Your perseverance through this challenge has been incredible to watch, and we know this is just one chapter in your story. We can’t wait to see you back to crushing handstand walks and everything else that comes next!!👏🔥
