If someone you know is having rainy day, you can be their rainbow and help by Active Listening to them. It's a special way of listening in which you tune out your own feelings and tune in to what the other person is saying and feeling and then feedback your understanding of what they are saying and feeling.

By Active Listening, you can help the other person peel back the layers and get down to the real problem. Once the “real problem” has been identified, most people have within themselves the solution that is best for them.

One of THE best parenting blogs we've read. If you have teenagers or will have teenagers, you really should read this.

It's from the heart, from a PET mom (and instructor) who shares the experience of how the role of parents changes when kids get older and "need" you less.

It also shows how PET can make this flight not less sad--but easier.
