A diamond in the rough is still a diamond!

While we carry all manner of bicycles from the likes of Jamis (and can order any Jamis bike that catches your eye — gravel is in, after all!), we also take in used bikes, make sure they’re in good condition and then get them back out to the community. For example, we have here a gorgeous Raleigh M30. Chromoly steel construction, cantilever brakes and an easy to use 3x6 drivetrain.

A Cautionary Tale on Restraint.

Folks, this is a beautiful wheel that a lovely, well meaning customer came to me with. They’d tried to install a cassette and were met with marked resistance. Nevertheless, they pressed forward… and the cassette was on.

Improperly. We’re currently rectifying this issue and are happy to announce it is making progress, as you see here, the cassette’s off and we’re sourcing a new one.

Now, The Bike Stand appreciates those who make an effort to understand bicycle mechanics and we get that sometimes, things go wrong, as it did for this customer. However, we caution you, dear viewer, that sometimes, the day cannot be won with brute force, especially when they involve expensive components. Please, please, if anyone you know and love (yourself included) are stuck on a build or a repair, stop on in and we’ll help you through!

Many aspire for the top end, the cream of the crop when it comes to bicycles. The Bike Stand is inclined to agree, those bikes with their sophisticated shifting and full carbon frames are beautiful to behold and ride sublime!

We also know that they are not the only way to enjoy cycling. This Jamis Allegro A1 is just one example of the quality bicycles we carry at more accessible prices, so that more people may realize the joys of riding!
