Tomorrow morning Saturday the 29th we will be hosting a free mini tournament. No greens fee. Just good ole disc golf fun like you do with your buddies on the weekend.

This is part of a trial run for a 2 course league that we are developing with Caney Creek Disc Golf for the fall or spring. So come on out and we will discuss the format with everyone that shows up. Last week CCDG had 18 player the week before BBP had 14 players. Let’s try and beat those numbers tomorrow.

This will also be the start of BlackBerry Pines - Layout Rating system. We have been working on a rating for the 3 main layouts Blue(Longs), Red(Shorts), & Purple(Beginner/Kids).

No propagators.
No tournament field.
No player’s PDGA rating.
No player’s previous rating.

You play and what you score for the round we will give you a rating for that score.

For example you shoot a par 68 on the Blue(Longs) you just shot a 974 rating
You shoot par 63 on the Red(Shorts) you shot a 912 rating. We used data from a couple different sources to come up with this.

This investment is more than just a new recreational amenity. It is an investment in our community's quality of life, providing residents and visitors with another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, stay active, and connect with friends and family.

We are also excited to share that local Disc Golf Professional Brock Cummings of BlackBerry Pines Disc & Camp will be collaborating with the City of Pittsburg on the design of the course. Brock brings valuable experience and expertise that will help create a fun, challenging, and welcoming course for players of all skill levels.

We are 2 weeks away until the USDGC Doubles Qualifier at BlackBerry Pines.

The USDGC Doubles Main Event is an amateur disc golfer's only opportunity to compete at the famed Winthrop Arena Course decked out in all its USDGC Pageantry. If you want to test your Skills on one of the most challenging courses in the world, this is your chance. So get qualified and let's see how you and your partner fare in the arena.

This is a Non Sanctioned Amateur ONLY Event

Top Finishing Teams will be awarded invites based on the following scale:

MA1:

1-14 teams = 1 team qualifies
15-24 teams = 2 teams qualify
25+ teams = 3 teams qualify

FA1:

1-4 teams = 1 team qualifies
5-9 teams = 2 teams qualify
10+ teams = 3 teams qualify

This is my 3rd year hosting this event. When I was coming up as an amateur I would have loved to had an event like this to get a chance to qualify and go out to United States Disc Golf Championship.

Mother Nature must have a sweet spot for us Old Disc Golfers. The weather has shifted in our favor and the 2nd Annual BlackBerry Pines Masters Cup will go down on Saturday. Plenty of spots open to sign up. Trophies at waiting to go home with the winners. We are so grateful for the Age protected disc golfers taking the time out of their weekend to come Visit Pittsburg, Texas and our beautiful woods course tucked away in Rocky Mound!

We have decided to move the 2nd Annual BlackBerry Pines Masters Cup to April 18th. With the weather we are expecting Saturday and the fact we bogied and scheduled the event on Easter weekend. 😇 Seems like the move is to push the date and hope for better weather in 2 weeks. Sorry for the inconvenience. Mother Nature has our number this year.

The 2nd Annual BlackBerry Pines Masters Cup is in 10 days. The trophies have been made. Cut from a cedar off the property. Craig Kiser helped get them cut into blanks. We engraved them on property. This is an age protected event. You have to be turning 40 this year at the minimum to play. Looking forward to seeing y’all come Visit Pittsburg, Texas

What a beautiful day to be outside in East Texas. Throwing Love at BlackBerry Pines was laid back and smooth sailing all day long. Congratulations to all the champions. Running these events is an honor and a privilege to host people from all over. We look forward to the next one. Which will be the 2nd Annual Masters Cup (Age Protected Pro/Am) in April.

Throwing Love at BlackBerry Pines is tomorrow! The weather is next level for this weekend. If you’re planning on coming out to Visit Pittsburg, Texas PLEASE sign up online. Costs you nothing to sign up. Everyone will pay when they check in tomorrow morning. Online registration in advance enters you into 4 Closest to the pins during the event. We will have 2 each round. Ctps will be Season Passes for the 2026 season.
