⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTICE TO PIRATE FANS & FAMILIES ⚠️
Texas Senate Bill 2929 — Spectator Conduct at Athletic Events
Pittsburg ISD wants our fans, parents, and community members to be aware of a change in Texas law regarding spectator behavior at school athletic events.
Beginning with the 2025–2026 school year, Texas Senate Bill 2929 gives referees, judges, and other contest officials the authority to eject a spectator from a school- or UIL-sponsored athletic event without first issuing a verbal warning and without requiring the inappropriate behavior to continue.
What does this mean for Pirate fans?
Officials are no longer required by state law to give a spectator a warning before ejecting that individual from an athletic contest for inappropriate behavior.
We love the passion and support our community brings to Pirate Athletics. We want our stands to be loud, energetic, and a tremendous home-field advantage for our student-athletes — while always representing Pittsburg ISD with class.
CHEER FOR OUR PIRATES.
RESPECT THE GAME.
RESPECT OUR OPPONENTS.
RESPECT THE OFFICIALS.
Our student-athletes are watching us. Let’s set the standard for how Pirates compete and how Pirates support one another.
🏴☠️ BE LOUD. BE PROUD. BE CLASSY.
DEFEND THE SHIP.
