At 10th Planet Oakley, our competition kids put in an incredible amount of work every single week. These athletes are on the mats Monday through Thursday, often training 2 classes a day while balancing school, family, and everyday life. Their dedication, discipline, and love for jiu-jitsu continues to inspire everyone around them.
Our team competes almost every weekend to gain experience, build confidence, and represent our community the right way. Competition registration alone can range from $90–$150 per event, not including travel costs, gas, food, and occasional overnight stays. It all adds up quickly, but these opportunities are what help our kids grow both on and off the mats.
We are currently working hard to get our competition team to one of the biggest tournaments of the year this September — Jiu Jitsu Con in Las Vegas. This is a huge opportunity for our kids to compete against some of the best young athletes, gain valuable experience, and continue putting 10th Planet Oakley on the map.
Our goal is bigger than medals — we want to continue building a positive community that keeps kids focused, motivated, and out of trouble while giving them opportunities to succeed through hard work, discipline, and teamwork.
We’re asking our community for help in supporting these amazing young athletes so they can continue gaining exposure and experience at competitions throughout California and beyond. Any donation, sponsorship, or fundraiser idea truly helps and means the world to our team.
