I need to tell you a story, because this happens way more than it should.
I have a client with Hashimoto’s who had been on thyroid medication for over a year.
Her doctor put her on a T4 medication (which is supposed to convert into active T3 in the body)…
But when we looked deeper at her labs?
👉 Her T3 was LOW.
Meaning her body wasn’t actually converting the medication properly.
And here’s the kicker:
Her original bloodwork didn’t even include a full thyroid panel.
So we had a missing piece of the puzzle the entire time.
I encouraged her to go back and ask questions.
And instead of getting clarity… she left feeling dismissed, frustrated, and unheard.
And THIS is what I want you to understand:
Just because your labs are “in range”
doesn’t mean everything is functioning optimally.
There are real reasons your body might not be converting T4 → T3 properly:
• Stress & cortisol
• Gut + liver health
• Nutrient deficiencies (selenium, zinc, iron)
• Under-eating / chronic dieting
These are things that often get overlooked.
Have you ever been told everything looks “fine”… but you knew it wasn’t? 👇
