Most women don’t realize this 👇

Carrying extra body fat isn’t just about how your jeans fit.

Research shows that for roughly every 10 pounds over a healthy weight, the risk of BREAST CANCER can increase by about 6–12%.
That’s not meant to scare you.

It’s meant to wake you up because you have a choice.
Your body fat isn’t just stored energy, it’s hormonally active.
More fat tissue = more estrogen production.

More estrogen over time can increase the risk of certain types of breast cancer, especially after 40.
This isn’t about perfection.

It’s about awareness and taking action.
Losing even 5–10% of your body weight can significantly improve hormone balance, inflammation levels, insulin sensitivity, and overall health.

You don’t need extreme diets.
You need strength training.

Your body needs to move. It is built to walk, run, swim, exercise...
Especially after 40.

Movement is what keeps you strong, lean, and feeling good.
It reminds your body what its job is: keep you moving through life, not just getting through the day.

Training isn’t just about building muscles.
It’s not about how you look or how you want to be seen and it’s definitely not about killing yourself in the gym doing hours of cardio...

It’s about feeling strong, exercise your heart, avoid as much as possible to end up with some sort of coronary desease or other related heart condition (trust me I had it in my family), also keeping your metabolism up and losing fat without losing your strength, your energy, or your mind.

Every walk, every rep with weights, every bit of movement counts.
You build strength.
You burn fat more efficiently.
You train your cardiovascular and respiratory system.
You handle stress better.
You move better, sleep better, feel better.

Your body starts working with you, not against you.

This isn’t hype.
It’s how the body works after 40.

Training is a life insurance policy.
For long days.
For stress.
For life throwing stuff at you when you least expect it.

You don’t need to be an athlete.
You don’t need perfection.

You just need to show up consistently and stop treating movement like a punishment.

Because the truth is simple, your body gives back exactly what you give it over time.

Trust me we all have those days when we just want to kick back, relax on the couch with some popcorn or a sweet treat or hang out for a comfy dinner and recharge. That was me last Friday when I went to a charity event and just eat some (more than some...) awesome treats...😋

Let me clarify it, that’s perfectly okay! Take some "moments" is crucial, especially when stress levels are high and our bodies need that downtime or in my case extra sweets.

But if those low-energy days become a daily habit, it’s important to find a balance and set yourself up for success. Here are a few healthy habits that help me to stay on track:

🍏I Set a Small Daily Goal: Whether it’s a 10-minute walk, a quick home workout, or some stretching, having a small goal can help keep me motivated.

🍏Water YES!! I Keep a water bottle handy and drink plenty of water, tea or infused water throughout the day to boost my energy and keep me full.

🍏I get my snacks ready to go. I Prepare balanced and easy snacks with plenty of nutrients to keep my blood sugar stable but also don’t starve!

🍏Least but not last I stay connected with friends, family, support group like my FIT40Women Group (you can join too!) to keep myself accountable and motivated but mostly to share and enjoy my journey.

Remember, it’s all about creating a sustainable routine that allows you to rest and recharge, while also staying active and healthy.

Trying to be Wonder Woman (and trust me she is my hero 😁) and do everything on your own will break you—trust me, I’ve been there.

I thought I could crush my business goals, be the perfect mom, keep the house spotless, and look like I just walked off a fitness magazine cover. Easy, right? 🤔

Wrong. I was working 12-hour days, skipping meals or eating quick unhealthy snacks because I “didn’t have time,” sleeping few hours and forcing myself to work out even though I had zero energy. By 4 p.m. I felt like a zombie , overwhelmed. But hey, I was “getting things done,” right? 🤦🏼‍♀️

Then came the crash. I had to cancel a client call because I was exhausted, I was dealing with anxiety and forgetting what was important for me . That’s when it hit me—I wasn’t building a business and living at my best, I was building burnout.

✨I learned that being “productive” means nothing if you’re running on empty.

Here’s what I realized:

1️⃣ Rest isn’t weakness—it’s wisdom.
2️⃣ You can’t pour from an empty cup.
3️⃣ Muscle isn’t optional (and skipping meals/workouts will cost you).
4️⃣ Perfection doesn’t exist—laugh at the mess and keep moving.Tomorrow is a new day.

Now, I move slower but smarter—intentionally building a business and a body that can last, taking my walks, enjoyng my food and slowing my working hours.

So if you feel like you’re running on empty, hear me: you don’t have to do it all, and definitely not all at once. Take care of YOU first, and the rest will follow. 💪✨

Dear 15-year-old me Cristina,

Stop chasing perfection — it doesn’t exist.

You’ll try every magic diet and workout trend, thinking the more extreme, the better. But here’s the truth: it’s the small, boring habits that will actually transform you.

Here’s what I wish you’d known:

✨Your worth isn’t tied to a number. The scale doesn’t define you. Focus on how you feel, not just how you look.

✨Food isn’t the enemy. Stop fearing carbs, stop starving yourself, and start fueling your body for energy, strength, and LIFE.

✨Fitness isn’t punishment. Stop extreme cardio sessions at the gym, you’ll fall in love with movement when you find something you actually enjoy — and spoiler: it doesn’t have to be for hours to be effective.

Oh, and one more thing…

💡You can rest and still make progress. Hustling through exhaustion isn’t a badge of honor; it’ll only lead to burnout.

You don’t have to ‘do it all’ or get it right the first time. Just start somewhere, celebrate your wins, and let progress unfold naturally.

If I could go back and whisper this to you, I would:

How many times have you made a goal of “working out more,” “eating healthy,” or “fitting into my favorite dress”?

There’s a more effective way that will help you zero in on the BEST ACTIONS you can take to make the goal a reality.

🤯 Do me a favor, Just fill in the blanks:

I will [specific action you will take] [how long/how often] for [time frame].

Examples:
I will [work out] for [30 minutes 5 days a week] during [the next 4 weeks].
I will [meal prep my lunches] for [4 days a week] during [the next 6 weeks].

This works because it focuses on YOUR PERFORMANCE. You have direct control over the things you’re choosing to do.
