Today is Global Running Day, and we are ready to turn Westchester Commons into the focal point of the local running scene for the PR GRD 2026 Urban Takeover 5K Fun Run!

At the =PR=, we believe movement is a labor of love sustained by the relentless consistency of this community. Tonight is a celebration of the “Why” behind every single step we take. Whether you are crushing your daily Solstice 21 mileage or joining us to share some miles with the pack, we want you on the starting line.

It is a virtual 21-day movement challenge running from June 1st to June 21st. The goal is simple: commit to moving your body every single day leading up to the summer solstice. The countdown is officially live. On Wednesday, June 3rd, the world keeps turning because people like us keep showing up—and we are making Westchester Commons the epicenter of the local running scene for our PR GRD 2026 Urban Takeover! 🌍⚡

This isn’t just another group run. It’s a full-blown celebration of the Why behind every single step we take. Here is what we have locked in for you next week:

👟 THE URBAN TAKEOVER 5K: A completely FREE 5K fun run taking over the sidewalks of Westchester Commons. Paces of all kinds are welcome. The pack moves together.

📋 THE “YOUR WHY” BIBS: No numbers here. Every runner gets a custom GRD bib with a blank space to write exactly what drives you to move.

Every day, we talk about the power of movement. We celebrate chasing personal records, logging early morning miles, and the simple, everyday gift of putting one foot in front of the other.
But today, we stop. Because today is a reminder that the freedom to move—to lace up our shoes and run down any road we choose in peace—was bought and paid for by those who gave up their own tomorrow.

The rows of flags you see pictured don’t represent a long weekend or a summer kickoff. They represent names, families, and ultimate sacrifices. They represent the brave men and women who stood in harm’s way so that we could live, move, and thrive in freedom.

High school running isn’t just about the miles you clock—it’s about the legacy you leave behind. This is your final warning: there are only a few days left to apply for PR NEXT GEN.
We are completely reimagining what it means to be a student-athlete ambassador. This isn’t a discount code or a social media badge. This is a one-year elite fellowship for the rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors who want to stop just participating in the culture and start running it.

If you are a builder, a mentor, a storyteller, or the teammate who holds the entire pack together, we want you in the rotation.

What You’re Stepping Into:

Back-to-back!

This past Saturday, the =PR= Run Club took over the Vantage Aviation Runway 5k, and we are incredibly proud to have SUCCESSFULLY DEFENDED THE TEAM TITLE! But if you know what this club is about, you know this award is about so much more than just going fast. Speed is great, but culture is what wins. This title belongs to every single person who laced up, stood on that starting line, and gave everything they had for the person running next to them. Beyond the racing, we love supporting this event because it directly helps fund the amazing work that does for the youth in our community.

That true community isn’t built in isolation—it’s forged when we show up for each other, match each other’s stride, and collectively commit to bringing out the absolute best version of ourselves on any given day. When one of us digs deep, it lifts the entire group. That is the soul of the RVA running community.

Whether you were turning over a new PR on the tarmac or screaming your lungs out from the cheering sections, you are the reason we keep moving forward.

Congratulations to the entire team. We celebrated the win, but the real reward is the community we build every single day.

Riverrock weekend was an absolute jam! A massive thank you to everyone who stopped by the =PR= Run & Walk x booth.

Being set up right on Tredegar Street was incredible. It wasn’t just a major thoroughfare for the festival crowd, but a true crossroads for the runners and cyclists who make up the heartbeat of RVA. The testimonials we received all weekend—whether you were there specifically for the event or just happened to be passing through on a long ride or run—were insane.

We also have to say, SHOKZ has the most vocal, passionate group of ambassadors I’ve ever experienced. To everyone who stopped by to learn, test out the open-ear tech, or just say hello: we heard you loud and clear!

A special shoutout and huge kudos to the team at . Without question, they are the absolute engine behind RVA’s outdoor scene. They hustled non-stop around the clock to make sure everything ran smoothly and that everyone walked away with a memorable experience. Mad respect to all of you for your incredible ex*****on and dedication to our community.

To top a great weekend off, it was a blast getting out there ourselves to take part in the Trail Takedown.

We are three weeks out from the PR GRD Urban Takeover, and the vision for this event is clear. Global Running Day isn’t just a date on the calendar; it’s about the soul of the city and the grit we put in together on these streets.

This year, the takeover is powered by Altra Running. We’ll have a full demo opportunity on-site, so you can test out their latest tech and find the perfect fit for your next block of training.

The mission remains the same: showing up for each other. We’re keeping this event FREE, but we’re bringing the heat with:

• Custom Bibs: To make the miles official.

• Shoe Recycling Drive: Bring your retired pairs to the shop and give those miles a second life.

• Post-Run Fellowship: We’re talking food and more because the connection we build after the work is just as important as the cadence during it.

The Summer Solstice is coming, and in the 804, we don’t just mark the day—we outwork the sun.

Introducing the Solstice 21 - PR Movement Challenge.

From June 1st to June 21st, we are virtually trekking from the grit of Belle Isle to the front door of the shop. We’ve evolved the old 2mph challenge into something bigger. This year, we’ve widened the path so the entire community can move together. Whether you’re a veteran grinder or taking your first steps, there is a place for you in the crew.

Choose Your Path:

The Movement Streak: 21 days of consistency. Log at least 1 mile of movement every single day. It’s about the discipline of showing up and protecting the streak.

The Solstice Chaser: The distance challenge. For those seeking the miles, the leaderboard is open. No daily minimum—just pure volume to see who can hunt down the most miles by the 21st.

The Mission:

Registration is 100% FREE. But the work has a purpose. We are raising funds for our July =PR= Youth Running Camp to keep it free for every kid in our community. Pick up the limited-edition Brooks Podium technical finisher shirt for $25 during registration—100% of the proceeds fund the camp.

The Finale:
We finish the streak where the community gathers. Join us on Father’s Day, June 21st, at the shop for the finale celebration, shirt pickups, and our milestone buttons.
