The D1 Approach – Hole 12 ⛳️

🏌️‍♀️ from the University of Richmond D1 team shares her strategy for Hole 12 at Independence.

Hannah approaches this hole a little differently than most. While many players choose a more conservative club off the tee, she's reaching for the driver and taking an aggressive line. The risk? A miss can leave you in the trees on the left. But for Hannah, the potential reward is worth it.

Her target is to favor the right side of the hole, giving herself the best angle and setting up a strong scoring opportunity.

Takeaway: Sometimes the best strategy is the one that fits your game. Understanding your strengths and committing to your shot can be just as important as playing it safe.

🎯 On Hole 12, Hannah is betting on confidence, distance, and a line just right of the hole.

The D1 Approach – Hole 11 ⛳️

🏌️‍♀️ from the University of Richmond D1 team shares her strategy for one of the trickier approach shots at Independence.

The biggest key on Hole 11? Respect the false front. Hannah's goal is to get the ball on the green, but not past the green, because that's not fun. Her preferred target is just left of the pin, giving herself room for a good look while avoiding some of the tougher spots around the green.

Takeaway: Sometimes great course management isn't aiming directly at the flag. Picking the right target and understanding the contours of the green can make all the difference.

🎯 On Hole 11, a smart shot just left of the pin might be the play.

🏌️‍♂️⛳ Robins Junior Golf Camp is officially underway at Independence!

We're excited to welcome another great group of young golfers for a week of learning, fun, games, and time on the course. These camps are one of our favorite traditions each summer, helping kids build confidence, make friends, and develop a lifelong love for the game.

A special thank you to Virginia Family Dental for their support of junior golf and for helping make opportunities like this possible for our young players!
