My son doesn’t want to be boxer. He never did. I never wanted him to be one either. I simply wanted to teach him how to defend himself. And of course, gain the other benefits of boxing training, such as self discipline, confidence, courage, consistency, grit, mental fortitude, and so on.
For the last 3 years he barely trained, despite having access to a boxing gym.
But with the minimal training he has done, he still manages to make consistent improvement and progress.
With that said, don’t be discouraged if your child isn’t showing much interest in whatever it is that you’re trying to teach them.
As long as you’re teaching them little things here and there, you’ll be surprised how much they will absorb over the years.
This post isn’t to shame my son.
I love my son and I’m extremely proud of him.
It’s simply to inspire parents who are frustrated with their child.
Don’t give up on them.
They are listening and learning from you.
