Our perspective changes EVERYTHING!

Often, our perspective prevents us from seeing it or receiving it.
For me, this inflicted the grieving process, beginning with denial:

Thankfully, the world really is abundant and our gifts from our Father are sitting there unopened, rejected by us.
Sometimes we really are the worst receivers, but with practice and perspective, we can learn to receive!! โค๏ธ It's a fun process of awakening!!

The goal is BIGGER than a checklist. It's bigger than your actions. It's YOUR THOUGHTS! Because the world is your oyster once you realize that YOU ARE POWERFUL!! ๐Ÿ’– call it manifesting, positive self-talk, karma, or a number of other beautiful things, but the PURPOSE here is to FEEL EMPOWERED.
๐Ÿ™ŒTo be your own advocate, and advocate for others that haven't yet found their voice or power
๐Ÿ™ŒTo witness your thoughts so that the stress and agony of life don't rob you of your peace or power
๐Ÿ™ŒTo realize you are part of something BIGGER! One of my coaches says we are someone because are some of the one.
Who do you know that needs to feel empowered?
That could benefit from less stress?
That needs to FEEL that they are significant?

In a DIY world, wellness will always be a community effort full of different modalities of healing. ๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿ‘ˆ
In the same way that you take your car different places for wiper blades, a dent repaired, or a new transmission...
As ๐Ÿ‘Šwellness advocates, ๐Ÿ‘Špatients, ๐Ÿ‘Šclients, and ๐Ÿ‘Šhealers, sometimes we need reminded that wellness can't always be a one-stop shop, and sometimes we need to be open to different modalities.
This hits home since I sometimes see "niched" wellness providers, influencers, and patients suffer either because of ๐Ÿ˜•the concerns with the optics of pursuing treatments outside of their specialty, or because ๐Ÿ˜ฅthey are closed to the idea that other healing modalities exist.
๐ŸŽฒA "crunchy" friend that relies on oils and other homeopathic treatments, and resolutely opposes seeing a physician, ended up septic and very ill in the hospital after unsuccessfully self-treating a UTI
๐ŸŽฒA nutritional coach that believe everything is impacted by nutrition (which of course it is) postponed referring a client to a specialist for an allergy-induced skin condition
๐ŸŽฒAn energy healer that believes that energy impacts everything (which is of course true) broadened their scope of treatment to try to help even after it was clear that the patron needed more support than they could provide
No matter where you are on your wellness journey, please know:
--It is vital to have someone that you trust to advocate for your wellness. A physician, nurse, healer, well-read friend, coach, etc.
--There are a world of options when it comes to wellness.
--You (or your advocate) should research and vet your options before committing. This includes supplements. (Supplements are a $165 billion-dollar industry, and any influencer can create their own line of supplements.)
--Your wellness journey may not imitate someone else's. You're not broken. Sometimes we need to take a step back and take a new perspective since there's nothing worse than doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Step-By-Step of My favorite breathing practice from Qigong.
๐Ÿ‘‰Simple, Fast, Effective! -- (And no paper bag!!)
Awesome for Stress management and clearing a runaway brain!
Start by standing with your feet just over shoulder length apart.
Rub your hands together in front of you, then drop them to your sides.
Start a slow inhale as you extend your arms to the side in a slow arch towards the sky. Keep enough breath for the full journey up.
Hold the breath for a 3 count (if you can) as your hands are heaven bound above your head, without your hands meeting.
Begin the exhale as you slowly pull a magical rope from the sky (hands near a prayer pose, without touching) down the front of you. From your head, to your chest, to your naval. (My first one often ends short in a yawn. That's okay.)
Then repeat as you get better at gaging the timing between your breathing and hand movements.
Three times is my GO TO for bed prep.๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–.

YEARS AGO!!!
The plaque. The research. The mis-diagnosis.

We all know that toxicity is tragic for our health.
In any form.
Including Toxic Relationships.
And those outside of the home are no exception.
๐Ÿ˜’The "hate-to-go-to-work" because of a coworker kind of toxicity.
๐Ÿ™„The nauseating concern that your family member may humiliate you kind of toxicity.
๐Ÿ˜•The stress stomach prior to an intervention with your friend kind of toxicity.
How do you deal with it?
First - Stop taking the blame! Whether or not you played a part or could have done something differently, we don't live in the past!! Those are just memories and they won't change just because we give up our present.
๐Ÿ‘‰Stop paying for past mistakes with today's limited seconds.
Second - Change the record! -- Our brains love to play historical monologues... A. Lot!! So, the stories you told yourself 6 months ago are likely still in there, on repeat.
๐Ÿ‘If the record playing doesn't serve you, you can change it!
Third. - Give yourself time to grieve! Grieve what was. What could have been. What should have been. Toxic relationships steal moments, memories, even years from us. Grieve it, then journal and practice witnessing your own thoughts.

There isn't just one ecosystem at play. - There are HUNDREDS!!
Which is why it is so important to take down the roadblocks that prevent our bodies from doing what they inherently know how to do:
๐Ÿฅ‡To find homeostasis.
๐ŸฅˆTo find equilibrium.
๐ŸŽ– To successfully perform apoptosis when something goes awry.
Because there is just too much we don't understand!!
When we adjust this pathway to prevent XYZ, do we really know what other parts of the ecosystem are impacted, and whether a change to that ecosystem impacts other areas? The true answer - NO.
We have made leaps and bounds proving ancient wisdom with scientific principles and amazing research, but we haven't mastered the human body... yet.
Until we do, the very best advice: ๐ŸŽฏremove the roadblocks that prevent our bodies from replenishing and repairing.
Remove these 2 obstacles to see a massive improvement!
๐Ÿคธ #1 STRESS - Mental stress is incredibly damaging to our systems. Not to mention, the impact it has on the length of our telomeres. (Look it up, it's FASCINATING!!)
๐Ÿคพ #2 INACTIVITY - This is huge for me!! As with most office jobs, our computer mouse and keyboard act as our legs. Everything that used to require steps and in-person conversations can now be done on a computer screen. But inactivity causes stagnation ... and we all know what happens to a stagnant pond. Movement increases circulation, lymph flow (this is an internal pipeline delivering the good and removing the bad), and oxygen delivery to the tissues.
IN SHORT, because I'm long-winded when I'm passionate...๐Ÿ˜ƒ
--You're not broken. You simply need the right kind of TLC.
--You can feel better... But you have to want to feel better MORE than you dislike the discomfort of change. And it usually requires someone to help motivate you, because the critical moments are hard.
--You can't help someone that doesn't want to be helped. So, stop waiting for that friend, relative, or spouse to join you or push you or coach you or celebrate you. That only leads to resentment. we can't all grow at the same speed in the same manners. So, take control, and stop waiting.
I am biased when I say that you need an advocate, but not because I am an advocate.
I'm biased because any change is a test of your character and strength and desire, and I know firsthand that those truly pivotal moments warrant having someone in your corner!! -- "Failing to prepare is preparing to fail." ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸIsn't it time you put someone in your corner that supported YOU?
Help your body. Get an advocate so you can do the hard things!

I began many years ago with a blank journal and wrote my letters of gratitude like a journal. Over the years, it has changed based on the season of life. At one point, gratitude was a practice that prepared me for meditation, and help my brain when I was first starting meditation. Other times, it was an outloud list that I declared in the car by myself. Now, I pair it with my stretching routine.

Wellness is not a 'Once and Done' effort.

Unfortunately, with so many myths, it can be difficult to know which path actually leads to true wellness! โค๏ธ

๐Ÿ‘First - It does NOT come in the form of a magic pill or special workout or a mushroom-based concoction. These are all amazing tools towards wellness, and used correctly, can be impressive helpers on your journey.

๐ŸคทSecond - WELLNESS is not ONE SIZE FITS ALL. So, one person's wellness 'helper' may be toxic for another. Which is why there are dozens of different diets, healthy coffees, workout regiments, etc. ๐Ÿ‘It depends on the person!!

๐ŸฅบThird - Worrying about your health is counter-productive. For example, when we stress, our bodies are unable to properly gidest our food. So, sitting down for a meal and worrying about what is on your plate will not lead to wellness. It IS necessary to make changes to be well, but worrying will only hinder the process. The very best thing you can do NOW for immediate results is to accept where you are at, limit the time you allow yourself to spend stressing (set the timer each day), and then take the same one small, positive action everyday until it feels "normal".

๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธLast - There are many, many temporary solutions. They are amazing bandaids!! They can make life manageable, offer hope, and temporary peace. - They are not sustainable.

For longterm solutions that are easy to adopt and practice, ๐Ÿ’ชfollow the practices with 2000 years of Science to back them. Ancient Chinese Medice or AYURVEDA offer proven, effective, sustainable ways to promote wellness and harmony, and ward off 'dis-ease'. โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ

It is easy to stress about doing what is healthy ... but fretting about the nutrition of your food, the pH of your water, the correct posture, how you walk, the toxins in your cleaners, the chemicals in your makeup and body wash, and what is the "right" kind of laundry detergent is exhausting!

๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”

Take a second to breathe... and then remember that one of the most toxic things for your body is to be in a constant state of fight-or-flight because you're stressed!!

๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ฅ

here are a few things that have helped me...


๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธFirst, if it stresses you out, then you're doomed from the start. You must start with grace! Grace because perfection is NOT the goal. Just baby steps towards better. So, if the mention of meal prep, Organic, and kale make you cringe, start with decreasing salt and sugar, or concentrate instead on alternatives to your laundry detergent.

๐ŸคชSecond, celebrate the small wins! You found a toothpaste the kids don't hate. Pat yourself on the back. Small steps.

๐ŸซกThird... this one is HUGE! Wellness is a billion dollar industry, so remember that there will be hypes. (Here today, gone tomorrow.) Don't expect a bottle, cream, or supplement to undo years of poor choices or to eliminate the need for you to "choose" wellness throughout the day. There is no alternative to conscious living.

Wellness IS a worthwhile endeavor!!

Only accomplished through small, joyful changes ...
