Another CrossFit Open is in the rearview and I want to recognize everyone from CFB that took part. We had 45 official registrants in the biggest functional fitness competition in the world. To my knowledge it was the best turnout in CFBs history for the Open, and everyone not only came out and worked their faces off, but did it with impeccable standards and upheld the spirit of not only the Games, but CF in general. I’m incredibly proud of everyone who stepped into a slightly uncomfortable place and found what they were capable of this year.
127,116 men and 105,960 women from all over the world took part in the 3 week competition. From that total the top 25% will advance to a 5 day Quarterfinals competition, next week, March 26-30.
This was definitely the most competitors that we’ve had advance to QF. Everyone that does CrossFit does so for different reasons. I tell people all the time that while competing in the sport of CrossFit is not necessarily something everyone needs to do, it can be so good for you to step into that arena every once in a while. Some magic happened this year, as it always tends to do.
A huge congratulations to the following athletes that advanced to the next stage of competition. See you next week my friends.
