Four 3s in one combo? Absolutely. Our students got to practice body mechanics, resetting, and keeping their right hand up. Hands up!

This week’s theme was “We all choose one song then dance to it playing in our heads.” It turns out that while we might be familiar with songs, it is a different beast to be able to play it in our heads. Can you even begin to decipher what songs we chose? A challenging theme but our students persisted. As they always do. That’s the point. 💪

Coach Aileen teaching the teep (front leg pushkick).

There are a lot of details that go into a single technique, and once you get comfortable with that there is a whole world of fight IQ (when, where, why, how) waiting to be explored. It’s a journey, come to class and put the practice in.

WEEKLY RECAP!!!

This week we had the joy of welcoming Allie to level 1.5. Allie has been with us since September 2025, and is one of our most consistent students.

Leveling up is not a matter of how long a students has been at LKE Dojo, it is a matter of whether we think someone’s body, mind, and ego can handle being in a higher level class. There is a lot we examine, and we appreciate our students’ trust, patience, and dedication.

This week’s theme was “The garage door is lifting, what do we see?” I (Angela) spent the whole week thinking we were inside of the garage looking outwards, but apparently most students thought we were on the outside looking in. Regardless, we are so proud of how our students jump in to this seemingly silly but important practice. Even if no one knows what we are looking at. 🤣

See if you can figure out what is what:
- expecting monsters but it’s kittens
- sheep
- nothing
- everything has been stolen (obviously we were outside of the garage, haha)
- aliens
- mirrors

WEEKLY RECAP!!!

Level 2 worked on jumping in with the right cross to set up a leg kick. It was… challenging. But everything is challenging the first time around. Hard until it’s easy, baby!

Theme of the week: Guess the time of year. Everyone stepped out of their comfort zones to do their greatest depiction of a time of year. Was it clear? Not really. 😆 But it’s the willingness that matters! 💪
