STRIKING 101 is an established gym in New York City, boasting more than 100 years combined martial arts knowledge, experience and service in the Queens & Manhattan area. We work tirelessly to keep up with current fitness trends, martial arts techniques, bringing in expert staff, updating our equipment, and expanding or group exercise class offerings as the needs of our patrons change. STRIKING 101 proudly offers more than 58 weekly group classes and 5 instructors. For those in need of an accountability program in order to prepare for an event or hit a weight loss goal, STRIKING 101 offers top-notch personal training services. Our certified team of professional trainers and coaches is available daily by appointment, offering customized workout & nutrition plans tailored to each participant's health.

Today I want to take a moment to recognize someone truly special.

Brenda has officially earned her first stripe on her brown belt—a milestone that represents not just skill, but years of dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to growth.

Before coming to me in 2019, she already had years of experience in Mixed Martial Arts. But what she has become since then… is something far greater than just a martial artist.

She has evolved into an incredible competitor, teammate, coach, and leader—and the proud academy owner and head instructor of

Watching her transform over the years, not just in skill but as a human being, has been one of the greatest honors of my journey as an instructor.

I see the weight she carries every single day.
As a mother.
As a coach.
As a teammate.
As a business owner managing multiple responsibilities.
