Where it all began.

Since 1923, Owens has been part of the Rome community through generations of change. A lot has changed over the years, the streets, the buildings, the businesses, and even our location, but our commitment to serving this community has remained the same.
This photo now carries even more meaning after the courthouse fire, capturing a piece of old Rome history that can never truly be replaced.

We’re proud of where we came from, excited for the future, and thankful for the loyal customers who have supported Owens for over 100 years. ❤️

What started as cleaning out old storage at Owens Sporting Goods and uncovering vintage jerseys from years past has now turned into an opportunity to bless children across the world.

After hearing all of your thoughtful suggestions, we felt truly led to donate the jerseys, along with many other clothing items, to Rome-based AEM Love: Akote Edeke Ministries as they prepare for their upcoming mission trip to Northern Uganda.

We would love for our community to join us in praying for safe travels for their team and for the incredible impact they will make while serving others.

While cleaning out old storage at Owens Sporting Goods, we uncovered OVER 1,000 vintage jersey samples from the 90s and early 2000s from just about every sport imaginable.

These are unworn sales samples with classic colorways, old-school designs, and styles you just don’t see anymore.

Instead of throwing them away, we’d love to see them end up somewhere they’ll actually be appreciated.

So we wanted to ask the community, where do y’all think they should go?

Theater groups, vintage collectors, local shops, community organizations, thrift stores… or somewhere completely different?

We’d genuinely love to hear everyone’s ideas before deciding what to do with them. 👀🏈⚾🏀🥎
