This week’s goes out to member Lauren D. Here’s what she had to say about her journey with Columbia Fit Body Boot Camp 👇
"Five years ago, my fitness journey wasn’t about aesthetics.
It was about getting my life back.
After a sudden and rare neurological illness in late 2019, I went from healthy and active to relearning how to sit, stand, walk, and do basic daily tasks. At the time, my goal was incredibly small: trust my body again.
What I learned during that season completely changed my perspective on health and fitness.
Consistency became everything.
Not perfection.
Not quick results.
Not chasing a number on the scale.
Just showing up over and over again — even when progress felt slow.
I joined Fit Body in May 2021 craving strength in a way I never had before. Over time, those workouts became more than exercise. They became part of my lifestyle, my routine, my stress relief, my community, and honestly one of the best parts of my day.
The physical transformation is exciting too. Over the last 5 years, I’ve built 10 lbs of muscle and become stronger than I ever imagined possible. But the biggest transformation is still mental.
I’ve learned to appreciate my body for what it can DO. I’ve learned that confidence is built through consistency and that strength is earned in the small daily choices no one sees.
My goal is no longer survival. Now I challenge my body, push limits, and celebrate growth.
That’s something I’ll never take for granted.
At almost 40, I’m not slowing down — I’m just getting stronger, smarter, and more intentional.
To anyone starting their journey: progress doesn’t happen all at once. It happens through repeated ordinary days, small wins, and continuing to show up for yourself.
Consistency really is the key. " 💙Lauren D.
