Our program welcomes beginner through intermediate riders & focuses on growing confidence, mastering essential riding & horsemanship skills, & developing a bond with horses. Bareback Arts is a compilation of horse vaulting, bareback riding, trick riding, and more. This program is designed to help improve one's balance, confidence, coordination, suppleness, grace, and strength. Instructor: Katherin

Safety Certified Gymnastics Coach and USPC C3 Member

Katherine has been a passionate horse woman for a number of years. In the past few years, she has advanced through the United States Pony Club levels achieving a national level in both riding and horse management, C3. Katherine is also a safety certified gymnastics coach and Ninja instructor. She directs a youth Ninja warrior program and has competed in season 10 and 11 of the show "American Ninja Warrior". Katherine has trained with a 2nd generation, circus performer, Carlos Sevensson. It is through him that she realized that her gymnastic and equestrian training came together in beautiful harmony!

Sylvie sporting her long beautiful hair! It’s gotten so long that she can get it in her mount when eating. Coach Kat decided to braid it back on itself to make it shorter and stay out of the way.

From supporting one another through challenges to celebrating victories as a team, vaulting develops communication, confidence, and leadership skills that extend far beyond the arena.

A sight like this warms a momma’s heart ♥️. Coach Kat looked over to find that her son had snuck in to lie on Popcorn while she rested. You know you have a good one when Popcorn is totally okay with it.

The girls are back on the grass track system after allowing it to get established after a hard winter. Miss Maggie has to wear a grazing muzzle so she doesn’t go backwards with her weight goals 💪

In horsemanship the students got to learn bout Pokeweed, a toxic plant to horses and helped clean up some from the pasture. Teamwork makes the dream work!

Today our vaulters took on a fun skill: hula hoop spinning while horse vaulting! 🎠⭕️

This exercise helps develop coordination, balance, body awareness, and focus—all essential skills for successful vaulting. Our students worked hard to keep the hoop moving while maintaining proper position and control on the horse, and they did an amazing job embracing the challenge.

It’s always exciting to see our athletes step outside their comfort zones, build confidence, and have fun while learning. We are so proud of their determination, creativity, and willingness to try something new!

Progress happens in the practice ring. Through repetition, determination, and a little creativity, these vaulters are developing the balance, flexibility, and confidence that will carry them to new heights.

This week has been a super hot week and we have to be careful with ourselves and our horses to not overheat. So what better to do than have some water fun! A simple wheelbarrow of cool water, a couple sponges 🧽, and a bucket on a barrel.
