barre3

Stories and snaps, spooky edition 👻 thank you to all our Farmington Valley families for joining this year’s Mini + Me Halloween block party 🧡

Barre3 was built on a few core beliefs: that you don't have to push through pain to progress. That rest is part of the work. That taking modifications is a sign of growth. And that how you feel is the most important measure of success.

Most people already sense that's true, but most gyms aren't built around it.

Good news: we are

Be proud of the process 🧡

Barre3 is your invitation to reject what fitness culture has told you success looks like. It's a space to get curious about what success actually feels like, for you.

So many women have walked through our studio doors for the first time already believing the story: waiting to feel like she'd earned a break, apologizing before class even started, just in case she wasn't good at this yet.

Then the shift happens. Modifying a move stops feeling like backing down. Breath becomes something you lean into instead of pushing past. Taking a break stops needing an excuse, because you know rest is part of how you build strength, not a pause from it.

And at some point, usually without noticing exactly when, you stop needing to prove you're working hard, because you can already feel it in your body.

10/13/2026

We’ve watched enough people walk through our doors to know exactly when the shift happens: you start showing up for the same class because you know who else will be there, you save the spot next to you without being asked, and you stop comparing yourself to your neighbor and start celebrating their wins.

The barre3 workout gets you here. It’s full-body, low-impact, and challenges you without depleting you. The community is why you stay.

The instructor who remembers your bad knee. The regular who checks in when you’ve been gone. The friend someone dragged to their first class who’s now been a member for years.

One doesn’t work without the other. The workout keeps you coming back to your body. The people keep you coming back to yourself. Put them together, week after week, and that’s barre3.

Come for the workout, stay for the community. 🧡

B3 isn’t a workout to change who you are. It’s a practice to support the life you live.

The goal has never been to just "get through" class. In every workout, our instructors cue you to stay present through physical challenge—teaching you that you can stay grounded and resilient through healthy discomfort.

And those benefits don't end when your workout does. We practice fitness so we can show up fully for the moments that matter most.

Here’s the why behind our practice:

Strength Training: We build functional muscle and postural alignment so you can lift your kids, pets, and heavy luggage with ease. It’s about building a body that feels capable every single day.

Cardio: We use low-impact, form-first cardio to boost your stamina without the burnout. By training your heart rate to rise and settle with control, you build sustained energy to power through your day—no mid-afternoon slump required.

Mindfulness: By learning to tune into your body’s wisdom on the mat, you build the skill to self-regulate stress off the mat. The calm and focus you practice in class become your anchor when life gets busy.

When you shift from seeing fitness as a punishment to embracing it as an act of joy, everything changes. You’re not just moving for today—you’re building a foundation of freedom, energy, and strength for a lifetime.

6 ways to transition into fall ⬇

The end of summer is an invitation to pause, and the start of fall is an opportunity to return to routine.

If your nervous system is feeling spent after summer’s busy schedule, the shift into autumn can be a moment to embrace a slower, more grounded pace.

A few intentional choices to bring you back to center:

—Build a consistent fitness routine instead of glorifying intensity. Remember: your body needs space to restore and rebuild.
—Swap a scroll for a walk. Leave your phone in your pocket (bonus points if you leave it at home). Let your mind wander without a screen.
—Savor a slow and quiet morning. Ditch the temptation to rush. Take the time to tune in before the world catches up with you.
—Set a seasonal intention. Fall is a natural time for fresh starts. Ask yourself: How do I want to feel as the weather cools? What boundaries will protect my energy?
—Pick up that book you’ve been meaning to read for months. Dedicate 20 quiet minutes to completely immersing yourself in a story that has nothing to do with your to-do list.
—Practice purposeful reset. Doing “nothing” isn’t wasted time—it’s vital maintenance. Give yourself full permission to unplug without guilt.

There’s something sacred about the start of September.

It’s not crisp, sweater-weather fall just yet (but trust us, we’re counting down the days). We all feel it though: the collective mood has shifted, and it’s that unmistakable "fresh notebook" feeling. That craving for structure, routine, and a return to the habits that make you feel like you.

After the beautiful, chaotic whirlwind of summer, returning to routine is a return to yourself.

When built on body wisdom rather than pressure, your daily rituals become your anchor. They give you the energy, resilience, and clarity to navigate the season ahead with confidence. Let’s dive in.

18 years of guided movement, 18 years of community, and 18 years of coming home to your body 💫 Hear a heartfelt thank-you from our founder, Sadie Lincoln, as we look toward what’s next for barre3.

What started in Portland, Oregon in 2008 as a vision for a better way to move has grown into a global community. We wrapped an incredible anniversary week across our studios and Instagram Live with one simple truth: fitness should leave you feeling energized, not depleted.

Thank you for being part of our story. Experience the complete practice for yourself - your first class is free at participating locations. Link in bio to book.

Positive. Connected. Encouraging. ✨

Ask any barre3 instructor to describe the energy in a barre3 studio, and those are some of the words you’ll hear. Because walking through our doors isn’t about fitting a specific mold, wearing the right outfit, or pushing through pain. It’s about stepping into a space designed around you, with expert guidance, safe modifications, and a community that has your back.

As we celebrate 18 years of mindful movement, Andrea, Rachel, and India share what it means to lead this practice and why you’ll always leave with more energy than you came with.
