This weekend, we had two athletes compete at the ADCC Atlanta Open, one of the most prestigious no-gi grappling events.
Our first athlete, , captured gold with three submissions on her way to the top of the podium: a first-round armbar, a second-round triangle choke, and a straight footlock in the finals. She demonstrated tremendous adaptability throughout the tournament, showcasing a diverse submission set along with excellent guard work and composure under pressure.
also put together a strong performance, earning a bronze medal after battling through a tough division. He secured 3rd place against a talented opponent and continued to show the grit and determination that make him a tough competitor every time he steps on the mat.
We’re proud of all of our athletes for representing the team with skill, professionalism, and heart. Competition is never easy, and every athlete who steps onto the mat gains valuable experience that helps them grow.
Side note. Congratulations as well to , who competed in a challenging 15-man bracket and walked away with $700 in prize money after an impressive performance.
Next up is the IBJJF Detroit Open, where Shujun will be looking to continue her momentum and add another gold medal to her collection.
Now it’s time to get back in the training room, keep sharpening our skills, and continue building toward the next challenge.
