Community, We work closely with the local schools and our vision is to empower and develop the young people in the area as we believe in the character building value that participati

on in sports brings to the youth of our region. Each year we continue to boost teams in all grades ranging from Unders 7's right through to our Senior Team and our fields are known as one of the best in Northland (sandy based and no match for winter weather). On top of this we have some of the best facilities throughout Northland. We have a proud tradition of having many team members who over the years have gone on to greater honours. From representing Mangonui and Northland as well International grades to the NZ Sevens and All Black status. This week we take on Kaikohe in another big challenge for our growing wāhine squad. Week by week these ladies continue to build confidence, connection and grit - and they’re not backing down from anyone 🔥

EASTERN WĀHINE | GAME 4 PLAYERS OF THE DAY 💚💛🏉

Another tough day on the scoreboard for our wāhine against a strong Hora Hora side - but what continues to stand out is the heart & resilience in this team.

The girls are getting knocked around, tested every week, and learning the hard way… but they are NOT giving up. They keep turning up, keep putting their bodies on the line and keep fighting for each other right to the end 💯

Today was also massive for our squad with 8 wāhine new to rugby taking the field 👏🏽 That takes courage. We’re proud of every single one of them.

🥇 3 Points - Keito Heighway
An absolute workhorse. Fit, fast and fearless. Keito tackles hard, runs the ball up strong, chases everything down and never quits. Tough, resilient and all heart - she led from the front today.

🥈 2 Points - Brooklynn Rogers
First game EVER and what a debut 👏🏽 Brooklyn trained hard for the front row role and stood tall today, carrying the ball up strongly and scrumming hard against the opposition. Massive effort!

🥉 1 Point - Jordayne Spaander
Our speedy 16-year-old machine 💨 Jordayne continues to impress with her courage and determination. Runs hard, tackles hard and never backs down - the future is bright for this young wāhine.

Today we celebrate the love, sacrifice, strength and mana that mothers bring to our whānau, our clubs and our communities. Whether you’re on the sidelines cheering, washing muddy gear, travelling the roads every weekend, volunteering your time, or pulling on the jersey yourself - today is for you. ❤️

A special shoutout to our Eastern Wāhine who take the field today at Hora Hora Rugby Club, 1PM kickoff. We are incredibly proud of the commitment, courage and heart this group continues to show as the very first Eastern Women’s team ever created. History is being made every time these wāhine pull on the green and gold. 💚💛

Tomorrow isn’t just game day… it’s Mother’s Day too 💐💚

To all our māmā out there - the ones raising babies, raising whānau, raising standards and still lacing up the boots every week… we see you 👏🏽

After a powerful bye weekend filled with whakawhanaungatanga, connection and team bonding, the wāhine are feeling tighter than ever and ready to bring that energy onto the field 🔥

This team keeps growing stronger - not just as rugby players, but as a sisterhood.
