Club Night 18th June

Well done to all the players that took part in the cockies tournament. It looked like a fun weekend.

The kitchen has been pumping on Thursday and Friday nights. If you can’t be bothered cooking, head down to the club for a drink, sauna, and dinner.

We have 5 Superchamps teams: C Mens and Womens, D Mens and Womens, and an E Womens. Good luck with all the training, organising, and managing. It’s going to be a good weekend.

With our first home game of the season, the Island Bayonets slashed their way over the hill in record time, arriving before the hosts had quite got their A into G. Was this an early sign of stars fading in the eyes of Red Stars?

With two courts running to avoid a school-night marathon, top seed Mel “Ice Cream Queen” took on the highly decorated Michaela. Life at the top can be tough, and as the saying goes, what goes up must come down. Unfortunately for Mel, it was down in three.

On the other court, #4 seed Pooja, sweet as ever but with a kick of spice, faced Rachel. After a rusty start, Pooja mounted a strong comeback, but four proved to be the magic number. Another loss for Red Star, going down in four.

Roped in at the last minute but always ready to step up, one of our many master chefs took on Natalia. Attempting to distract her opponent by accessorising her ear with a squash ball may have been the game plan. Seed #3 Dee did what Dee does best, taking the match in three.

#1 CC faced #2 seed, Renee. Soft-spoken and flying under the radar, Renee proved that actions speak louder than words. Calm, steady, and clinical, she paced her way to a 3-0 win

A tough night at the office for Red Stars in their eyes, but as usual dinner didn’t disappoint.

Our combined efforts of the evening earned a valuable four points for the team 🤭.

Thanks for heading over Island Bayonets. Come back for icecream in August, but see you ladies at the end of the month 😎
