Happy 86th Birthday to Neil Cadwallader 🥊

Neil has been my boxing coach and mentor since I was 7 years old, and in many ways, he still is today.

Neil coached at Masterton Young Citizens from the late 70s right through until 2012 and is without doubt one of Masterton’s greatest boxing coaches.

He has done so much for boxing, for our club, and for the wider community over many years.

Happy birthday Neil, and thank you for everything. 🥊

Brooke Miller Set for Auckland Showdown

In two weekends' time, Brooke Miller will travel to Auckland to compete on the prestigious Queen of the Ring boxing event.

With more than 20 bouts scheduled, Brooke's fight against Jordan Wilson has been placed as the third-to-last bout of the night, making it one of the feature fights on the card. This is a great reflection of Brooke's standing within New Zealand boxing and the quality of contest expected.

A multiple New Zealand champion, Brooke continues to test herself against top opposition as she builds towards bigger goals. Everyone at Masterton Young Citizens Club is proud of her hard work and dedication and wishes her all the best for what promises to be an exciting contest.

💡🥊 The new lights are finally up! 🥊💡

A huge thank you to Michael Day at Daly Electrical for installing our new lights and completing the job at a very generous rate. We really appreciate your support of the club.

We would also like to sincerely thank WBSWairarapa Building Society (WBS) for providing a grant towards this project. Without their support, upgrades like this would be much harder to achieve.

A big thank you as well to Ziggy's Glass for lending us the scaffolding we needed, and to Hire Shop and Steel Shop for kindly providing a scissor lift for the day.

Community support like this makes a massive difference and helps us continue improving the facilities for our members and the wider community. We are incredibly grateful for everyone's generosity and support.
