🏀 WANT TO PLAY BUT DON’T HAVE A FULL TEAM? 🏀

We’ve had lots of messages from people wanting to get involved in our Adult Community League, but who don’t have enough players to make up a full team.

Don’t let that stop you!

If you’re looking for a team, come down to one of our open scrimmages:

Come along, have a run, meet some new people and we can help connect you with others who are also looking for a team.

Alternatively, send us a direct message and we’ll add you to a group with other players who are in the same boat and help put a team together.

Kia ora whānau

Here is the draw for the final 3 weeks of our Primary League!

We hope our tamariki are having lots of fun, enjoying their basketball and, most importantly, learning along the way. We’re encouraging them to develop the importance of teamwork, passing, dribble hand-offs and spacing on the court.

A little reminder that this is a pilot programme, so we would love to hear from you! If you have any feedback, suggestions or ideas, please feel free to email us or send us a private message. We’ll take everything on board and use your feedback to help shape the next primary school competition we run in the future.

We’re excited to start OPEN SCRIMMAGES for our Wainuiomata community! 💚🖤

Every Monday & Thursday from 6pm at Wainuiomata High School, we’ll be opening the court up for some fun, relaxed adult basketball.

Whether you haven’t played in years, play regularly, or just want to get active and have a run around — everyone is welcome! 🙌

Game On! Our Y5-6 Basketball League starts today! 🏀

Today is all about having a go, learning new skills, and having fun as we kick things off with a 4x4 "Give It a Go" basketball session led by Terry and Renee.

📍 Doors open: 3.30pm
📍 Teams ready to go: 4.00pm

The full league draw will be released later this week.

We're excited to welcome all our tamariki and get the season underway. A special thank you to Nuku Ora, whose support and funding have enabled us to offer this fantastic opportunity free for participating whānau.

🏀 WAINUIOMATA BASKETBALL COMMUNITY SOCIAL LEAGUE IS BACK! 🏀

Basketball. Community. Good Vibes.

The wait is over! Grab your mates, whānau, work crew or teammates and join us for another exciting 8-week Spring Social League.
Whether you're playing to win, keep fit, or just enjoy a run with friends, this league is all about bringing our community together through the game we love.

Every team that enters is helping support the future of basketball in Wainuiomata, with all proceeds going directly towards the Wainuiomata High School Basketball Programme.

📅 Key Details 🏀 Mixed League – Mondays (from 21 September)
🏀 Men's League – Thursdays (from 24 September)
📍 Wainuiomata High School Gym
🕖 7:00pm–10:00pm
💲 $350 per team

🗓️ Registrations close Monday 14 September
The final competition format will be confirmed once registrations close and will depend on the number of teams entered.

The students from Wainuiomata High School Basketball who attended the Hoop Nation Tournament during the last week of the school holidays would like to acknowledge and thank the amazing businesses, whānau, and community groups who got behind us.

Because of your support, our students not only looked professional in their new uniforms, but 16 young men were also able to experience a tournament that only one player had attended before. Opportunities like this create memories, growth, confidence, and experiences that go far beyond basketball.

Today marked the final day of our Give It a Go basketball programme for our tamariki.

We wrapped it up with some kai and quality time with the whānau who came along to support.

A huge thank you to Terry for leading these sessions and sharing your knowledge and passion with our tamariki. It’s truly appreciated.

We’d also like to thank Nuku Ora and Wainuiomata High School for your ongoing support.

We look forward to seeing you all at the next block we run!
