274 parkrunners enjoyed some spectacular river views this morning - with the river right at the banks, fortunately with still plenty of space for us to run and walk.

Good to see lots of families and all ages - everyone is welcome!

Thanks as always to our volunteers - it's lots of fun, and there's something for everyone!

The results have been posted and should be available shortly.

A few of our keen parkrunners are looking at setting up a new parkrun event just over the hill in Wainuiomata!
The start-up crew are in advanced planning with parkrun HQ, and are looking to pull together a core team of around 15 volunteers to help establish the new parkrun event. This is an exciting community project, and they are looking for people who can commit for at least the first few months to helping regularly while they get properly established.
They are looking for:
- 2 Event Directors
- 4 Run Directors
- 10 additional regular volunteers for a range of event roles.
The proposed 5k course will be based in the Hine Road recreational area, potentially following the Gum Loop track. The official name of the event, and the start date are yet to be decided.
If you’re keen to be part of something positive for the Wainuiomata community, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact the Lower Hutt parkrun team on [email protected] if you'd like to get involved and we will get you connected with the new Wainuiomata parkrun team.
