The Ellesmere Golf Club has a genuine country reputation for its friendliness and welcoming nature and warmly invites any prospective golfer to join. The club has members living in Christchurch who are quite happy to travel to Ellesmere to play. When asked why they do this rather than join a town club the answers vary slightly but include the following reasons:
· The members like to play golf with different players each week, experienced and learner golfers playing together and enjoying each others company.

· Club rooms provide an excellent facility for 19th hole social interaction.

· The course is well maintained with excellent greens and well cared for fairways. Even the rough is not a major obstacle!

· The course is well laid out with some interesting holes that will test both experienced and learner golfers.

· The Club members are rightfully proud of their course and are keen to promote it and share it with others.

· There is no prior booking required to play the course, just turn up and play. The Ellesmere Golf Club is an 18 hole par 72 golf course, located 3km south of the Leeston township. The course has an extensive irrigation system which allows the fairways and greens to be well maintained for excellent year round golf. The club welcomes all affiliated golf members and fee paying golfers. Members can be seen playing on the course most days of the week. Visitors find that they are able to play on most days although there is some restriction on club days. If you are looking to join a club, or just want a game of golf, then come try the friendly Ellesmere Golf Course. Ladies Day: Tuesday – 18 holes at 10am, 9 holes at 11am
Men’s Day: Wednesday lunchtime tee off – 10am
[Watering Tournament every 4th Wednesday of the month]
Club Day: Saturday tee off 12pm – Ladies and Men tee off together [Course available for play in the morning]. Summer Golf: Starts on Saturday, 1 October 2022 – 12pm tee off
Twilight Golf: Starts on Tuesday, 27 September – 5pm tee off

The annual subscriptions are comparable with most country clubs. These are as follows for 2022/23:
Green Fees $30.00
Full membership $570.00
Junior [16 to 18] $170.00
Junior [under 16] $65.00
Undergraduate Student 300.00
Summer membership [1 October to 28 February] $340.00
Limited members* $460.00
9 Hole members $345.00
*Limited members have playing rights on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sundays during the season [1 March to 30 September] and playing rights on all days for the rest of the year. Contact Details:

Today at the Weedons Ladies Teams Stableford Tournament a team from Ellesmere won first prize!!! Congratulations to Nadia Adams Pam Weir, Nicola Groundwater and Jan Walter. Ellesmere Ladies were great supporters of our neighbours tournament with three teams playing. Not bad from a small Ladies membership. Thanks Weedons for a great day.
