With the meeting on Wednesday night with Dr Robin Holmes there was alot of positive news in my eyes.

One being the fish in irrigation ways/ponds are ok to salvage and place back into the river in which they have come from.

To me this is awesome information to get and hopefully working with north canterbury fish and game and farmers we can salvage these lost fish.

A health and safety plan will need to be organized to insure nobody gets hurt or any body getting in trouble.
But a step in the right direction

5222 anglers brought a salmon license, if the saying goes 10% of the anglers catch 90% of the fish.

Thats 522.2 fish caught on a return in the north canterbury region with the rakaia count at 608 and the waimakariri 213 for a total of 821 fish.

I know not everyone keeps there 1 fish but

Angler harvest being a huge contribution to the collapsed fishery .

My personal opinion our established salmon run will not fix it self with out a proper salmon management plan. We can't sit back and do nothing no more.

fish and game csi can control this with a simple regulation change but choose to hesitate in a time of crisis to our chinook salmon.

Keep it up elections are fast approaching.
