KARATE GRADING

There will be a karate grading for our students on Tuesday 16th June 2026.

The grading will start at the usual class time of 5.30pm. Be there early. We will endeavor to have the younger students finished by the usual finish time of 6.30pm.Senior students expect to be there for 2hrs.

The cost per student, to attempt to grade up, is $50. This is to be paid before the grading starts.

Its going off on June 27 when our boy Dave 'Wolverine' Watts kicks off in the King in the Ring Super Middleweight K1 Elimination tournament.
Dave's looking lean, tough and fast and is being supported by the one and only Matt Toa from Hammerhead MMA 🙏👊❤️

Big shout out and congratulations to Catherine Van’t Wout on a superb win in Patong, Thailand.

While most people head over there for cocktails and massages, Catherine decided doing a little punch face sounded like a better use of time… and made it count.

To step into the ring away from home and come away with the win takes more than fitness or skill, it takes composure, belief and a willingness to lean into the uncomfortable...⛰️🏃‍♂️

Those who know and train with Catherine know this is no fluke. She puts the work in, consistently, no fuss or complaints, just steady grind; always pushing herself, always looking to get better and always finding the way to do this with grace and humility.

Massive congratulations to David R Lewis on an outstanding first round KO for the NZ Super Middleweight ISKA division win on Friday night at Domination in Christchurch. Finished with a left hook, proof that sometimes the oldest trick in the book is still the one that closes it.

Those that know and train with Dave know that this result is no accident, the hard yards were put in prepping for this, sacrifices were made and on the night that commitment spoke for itself...

More than the win, it’s the way he goes about it. Dave is a top fella as well as a top fighter; consistent, humble, respectful and driven, as always, an inspiration and example to everyone.

Big thanks as well to the TOA Fighting Systems team for the lead up, especially Tracy Warnock and respect always for Matt Toa and the Hammerhead team for backing Dave on the night.

Finally a huge shout out to Dave's family for the sacrifices you've made. We know it's tough when Dad/Hubby is away playing punch face all the time, you are all legends and this victory is yours as well.

Register now for our next 10 Week Kickboxing Beginners Course in 2026!
Every Monday starting 20 April 5.30pm-6.30pm and will run every Monday for 10 weeks - get your summer bod sorted!
This is for people 14 or older who have little to no experience in martial arts or wanting to get back in at a basics level; click the registration link below and then just turn up on the first night at 5.20ish.

All necessary equipment is supplied but if you've got your own hand wraps or gloves (12oz min) feel free to bring them along.
Bring along a drink and a jacket to put on for warmup and afterwards. Just wear comfortable training clothes (T-shirt and shorts etc).
