ST PAUL'S REPRESENTING NZ

Congratulations to five of our St Paul's swimmers who will all be representing New Zealand over the coming months. We are incredibly proud of every one of them.

Surf Life Saving
Simiosi Tukia, Tessa Scott and Finn Freemantle have all been named in the wider New Zealand Junior Black Fins squad for the Lifesaving World Championships 2026 in South Africa this December. All three will be heading to Australia in July.

Swimming
Alex Copocean and Neo Urlich have been selected to represent New Zealand at the 2026 Tri Series in Karratha, Western Australia, departing 5 July and returning 11 July.

St Paul’s Swimming Club Inc.
Are you a highly organised administrative professional looking for a flexible, part-time role?
St Paul’s Swimming Club is seeking a dedicated Club Administrator to join our team for 12 hours per week. This role is to ensure our operations, communications, and finances run smoothly so our coaches can focus on the water.

The Role
You will be the primary point of contact for our swimming families and the lead systems administrator for our management system, iClassPro.

Key responsibilities include:
Member Relations: Managing new enquiries, booking assessments, and assisting with account setups.

Communication: Coordinating club-wide newsletters and managing our social media presence.

Financials: Processing monthly fees, managing junior coach timesheets, and chasing outstanding accounts.

Logistics: Coordinating travel and accommodation for away meets and assisting with the organisation of club nights and prizegiving.
Staff Support: Managing the junior coaching rosters and handling IRD/police vetting documentation.

Hours and Location
12 hours per week with a flexible schedule.
Must be available onsite between 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm on certain weekdays to provide face-to-face assistance to members.

About You
We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail,
and a "can-do" attitude. While experience with iClassPro is a significant advantage, we are willing to train the right person who is tech-savvy and eager to learn.

While this is primarily an administrative position, a dual role position could be considered for candidates with swim coaching qualifications and/or experience.

Rise and Grind: May 2026 🌅

Consistency is the thing nobody talks about enough. It's not the one brilliant session where everything clicks. It's Tuesday morning when you're tired, when school was hard, when you'd rather be anywhere else. And you show up anyway.

These swimmers did that. Every single week in May, they were here. Not occasionally, not when it suited them. They made it a habit, and that's what actually makes you better over time.
If you want to know what real improvement looks like, you're looking at it. One session at a time, adding up, even when you can't see it yet.

Last night we celebrated our St Paul's Prize Giving and what a night it was.

Every award, every moment of success, none of it happens alone. Behind every swimmer on that stage is a family who sacrificed, teammates who pushed them and friends who believed in them. That's what I saw reflected last night and it made me incredibly proud.

I spoke about being 'Still Here.' About what it actually takes to succeed in the long run. Because success isn't overnight. It never is. It happens when you learn to make a decision, build your team and protect what you love. This season I watched this group do exactly that. They took every setback, every hard moment, and came back stronger for it. That's not a squad. That's a team.

To every single St Paul's swimmer, you have done an outstanding job this season. I mean that.

And honestly? I am already excited about what next season is going to bring. We are just getting started. đź’›

Rise & Grind – April

This group is starting to grow.

Not by talent, not by who “looks good”, but by who is actually turning up ready to work and who is still just going through the motions.

April exposed a few things.

Some of you are starting to understand what training properly looks like. You’re holding skills under pressure, you’re backing up efforts, and you’re not dropping your standards the moment it gets uncomfortable.

Others are still picking and choosing when they switch on.

You don’t get better by having one good set and coasting the rest. You don’t get better by waiting until you feel good. And you definitely don’t get better by comparing yourself to the person next to you who isn’t working either.

The standard is simple,
Every session and set has a purpose. Every push off counts, every turn, every stroke, every decision you make in the water adds up.

The swimmers making progress right now are the ones taking responsibility for that.

April was a step forward for some.

STAR WARS: RETURN OF THE RACES

Good luck to all our swimmers heading to Star Wars Meet on Sunday

This isn’t about being perfect. It’s about stepping up, having a go.

Race hard, support your teammates, and enjoy it. For some of you, it’s your first meet. For others, it’s another chance to get better. Treat it the same. Turn up and give it everything.

And yes, bring the energy. Costumes, relays, team spirit. That’s what makes this one different.

Let’s get after it.

NAGS is here.
Next week, 12 St Paul's Swim Club swimmers step up to the National Age Group Championships and every single one of them has earned their place.
While most kids were sleeping in and enjoying their summer holidays, our swimmers were in the water. Early starts, hard sets, day after day. That dedication is what got them here and it is something to be seriously proud of.

Samantha Alderton, Lachlan Collins, Max Cryer, Lani Jarrett, Eunice Liu, Tessa Scott, Kaylee Smith, Samantha Tilley, Simiosi Tukia, Elieta Tukia, Logan Woods and Charlie Alderton, this is your chance to show what you can do. Go in confident, race your own race, and leave absolutely nothing in the tank.

To every parent and supporter who made those early mornings possible, thank you. It takes more than the swimmers and we appreciate your support.

We could not be prouder of our team heading down to NAGS. Now go show them what St Paul's is made of.
