❤️💛 INCREDIBLE NEWS FOR WAITEMATA FC! 🎉

We are absolutely delighted to announce that Waitemata FC has received a significant grant from Foundation North! 🙌

This fantastic funding will allow us to replace our ageing clubroom roof, install new tuck shop and office doors, and purchase much-needed football equipment.

For a community club like ours, this support is massive! It means we can continue improving our facilities while keeping football affordable and accessible for local families.

A huge thank you to Foundation North for their generosity, and to Andrew Scott and the team at UHY Haines Norton - Auckland Ltd for their support throughout the application process.

Waitemata FC has become the latest and 13th club in the NRF region to achieve accreditation through New Zealand Football's Club Support Programme, marking an important milestone in the club's ongoing commitment to strong governance, sustainability and delivering the best possible experience for its members.

"We're always looking for ways to improve," the club said. "The accreditation gave us the chance to review how we operate, strengthen our processes and ensure we're building a sustainable club for the future. It was a valuable experience that highlighted both our strengths and areas where we could improve”.

For clubs considering undertaking the programme, Waitemata FC's advice is simple.

"Absolutely do it. The programme encourages you to step back and look at your club differently. It takes some time, but the long-term benefits are well worth the effort."

COMMUNITY SPORT ❤️💛

This is a great read and something we think will resonate with a lot of people involved in community football.

Every week, countless hours are given by coaches, managers, committee members, referees, parents and other volunteers simply to give our kids and players the opportunity to play the game they love.

At Waitemata FC, we’re incredibly fortunate to have so many people who give their time to our club — often quietly, behind the scenes and without expecting anything in return.

As this article highlights, it’s about so much more than wins and losses.

THE NEXT STEP FESTIVAL ⚽🔴🟡

Despite some pretty questionable weather, The Next Step Festival was a whole lot of fun! 🌧️⚽

The festival gave our 7th Grade players the opportunity to experience the format of football they’ll be stepping into next season, and it was fantastic to see so many kids out there enjoying themselves.

A huge thank you to the teams from Mt Albert Ponsonby AFC Eastern Suburbs AFC, WSAFC - Western Springs Association Football Club, East Coast Bays AFC and Waitemata FC for joining us.

To all the players, coaches and supporters – thank you for representing yourselves and your clubs with distinction and helping create such a positive atmosphere throughout the day.

A massive thank you also to our volunteer staff and referees who braved the weather and helped everything run so smoothly. Days like this simply don’t happen without people giving up their time to help. ❤️💛

We’d also like to thank Auckland Council for marking out the fields for us, and the Croatian Cultural Society Club for kindly allowing us to use their car park for additional parking on the day. Your support was hugely appreciated.

We hope everyone enjoyed the experience and left excited for the next step in their football journey!

Thanks to everyone who helped make the day possible! ⚽

LET’S GO MATA! 🔴🟡
