Quick tip about connective tissue and hormonal adaptation for 40+ athletes, and hybrid athletes.

1. It's better to have one longer and danced smart session then two moderate.
2. After 40 - day on day off works best for optimal adaptation and recovery
3. You can cycle between 2 - 3 disciplines every 6 to 8 weeks, e.g. kettlebell sport, strength training and gymnastics.

This was my GPP today (walking lunges and chest press not included) - a speed jerk set.

Was aiming for 50, nailed 56.
Speed sets with low weight are best way to nail down technical aspects of a lift.

Prior was a 7' "Draft Set" with 20's
(soon to be published in my YT with a full breakdown)

This is a part of a "Deliberate Overreaching" strategy for this week.

Post GS main and Strength secondary GPP - fat bar weighted pull-ups 3x5/24kg

I haven't done weighted pull-ups in a long time. Like really long. Yet here I am. What I've been doing is a lot of double kettlebell cleans which are a back namely latissimus dorsi exercise same as rowing/pulling mechanics.

Does it mean that by practicing only kettlebells you do pull-ups? No. You must have specific training as with any skill. What it does imply, is that when you know how to do pull-ups AND you do kettlebell sport specific movement, in this case the clean, you may invest less in doing pull-ups to sustain the skill.

1. 6 min TA LCP (16) for the TOKCC, 53 reps
2. 2 min TALC (16) sprint ~ 30 reps
3. 3 min TALC (20) work set, 8 rpm
4. Bench & DL 3x5+5

TAPERING FOR KETTLEBELL SPORT AND STRENGTH TRAINING, aka Hybrid or Multidisciplinary Training

I was tapering for the NEKC Event while preparing for my 10k with a 1000m elevetion = good old squatting and deadlifting.
