"Park Rangers AFC is a football club located in Faithlegg, Co Waterford X91AEP2. Park Rangers is open for use to all groups including those disadvantaged or with disabilities on prior approval from the club. Park Rangers AFC is a football club in Faithlegg, Waterford. The club has 12 Waterford Schoolboy League teams, 2 adult men's teams, girls + women's team. We have U11 (x2), U12 (x2), U13 (x2),

U14 (x2) , U15 (x2) and U16 (x2) in the Waterford Schoolboy League. We have Youth (x2), Division 1B, Division 3 in the Waterford Junior League, along with U10, U12, U14, U16 Schoolgirl Teams, U17, U19 girls youth teams and one women's team.

_Portlaw 2 – 7 Park Rangers_
The U18s opened their season with a late kick-off away in Portlaw this afternoon. Following Molly’s move to Waterford FC, there was a new face in goal as Aoibhinn Bolger made her Park Rangers debut. Great to have her on board! Playing with the breeze in the 1st half, it was mostly one-way traffic, with Aoife Bolger and Saoirse O'Dea bossing the midfield. We created several chances before Saoirse opened the scoring after 25mins, following a great save from her earlier effort. Emilia Cala and Sophie O'Connor then added goals in the 27th and 32nd mins, with Sophie causing all sorts of problems for the Portlaw right back. Aoife completed the 1st half scoring just before the break, following up after the ‘keeper had palmed away a cross/shot from Saoirse.
*Half time: 0 – 4*
The 2nd half was a little more cagey, perhaps due to the substitutions, and Aoibhinn had her first meaningful save about 7mins in. Portlaw pulled one back after 75mins when a speculative shot from outside the area bounced over Aoibhinn as she came out to meet it. That didn’t deter us, though, and Sophie responded with 3 goals in quick succession (77, 78 and 82 minutes) to bring her tally to 4 for the afternoon. Portlaw scored a 2nd late on when a low shot hit the post and unfortunately rebounded in off Aoibhinn as she tried to gather the ball.
*Final score: 2 – 7*
A fantastic start to the season, with PR controlling the game for most of the 90. The midfield and forward line were the stars of the show, while the defence was solid for the most part. It was also a great debut from Aoibhinn, who could do little about either goal conceded.
We were missing players today, so there is plenty more to come from this team as the season progresses. For now, huge congratulations to all 14 girls involved on a well-deserved victory. There were some great performances all round notably Sophie o Connor and Saoirse o Dea but Aoife Bolger dominated our midfield today and had P.O.M display .

⚽️ Park Rangers Underage Round-Up ⚽️

Another busy weekend of football for our underage teams with plenty of positives, determination and great individual performances across all age groups.

🔵 U12A Girls The girls opened their competitive season with a fantastic 1-1 draw away to Piltown. Chloe's superb free kick gave Rangers a half-time lead before Piltown equalised in the second half. Every player worked tirelessly throughout, with Hannah Malone earning Player of the Match after an outstanding performance.

🔵 U12D A difficult afternoon saw St Joseph's claim an 11-0 victory. However, the scoreline didn't reflect the effort shown by our young side, who were only 2-0 down at the break. The defence battled bravely throughout, while goalkeeper Fionn produced a number of excellent saves. As a newly formed group, the team will continue to grow stronger together.

🔵 U14C The U14C side suffered a 5-2 defeat to Villa despite a spirited comeback after a difficult opening. Goals from Nathan Choi and Thomas Power kept Rangers in contention, with Thomas leading by example as captain.

The team responded brilliantly in their next outing, earning a hard-fought 0-0 draw away to Ferrybank. A superb defensive display led by Kyle Carroll and Louis Power, along with an excellent all-round performance from Odhran Duffy, secured a deserved point.

🔵 U14E It was a tough start to the season against last year's league runners-up Villa, who claimed a 5-0 win. Despite the result there were numerous positives, with captain Tom Purcell, goalkeeper Ben, and midfield duo Edward Jones and Luke Deasy all impressing.

The lads then faced Pilltown B and suffered another 5-0 defeat, although the result was largely decided during a difficult second quarter. To their credit, the team showed tremendous character to regroup and compete strongly for the remainder of the match. Tom Purcell was named Man of the Match, while Steyn caught the eye with several exciting attacking runs.

A huge thank you to all coaches, volunteers, referees, parents and supporters for their continued encouragement. Plenty learned, plenty of positives to build on, and lots to look forward to in the weeks ahead.

12A girls piltown 1-1 PR
An excellent first competitive game for the u12A girls today. It was a very tough physical battle and all 11 girls today worked incredibly hard on and off the ball to keep a skilful and physical piltown to a single goal. A super Chloe free kick out us 1-0 at half time. Piltown equalised ten minutes into the second half and they couldn’t be separated for the rest of the match. Incredibly heartening performance from a wonderful committed team and looking forward to the rest of the season ahead. Player of the match Hannah Malone

If we are going to start games the way we did today we are in for a long season. 3 down within the first 7 minutes and 3 unbelievably soft goals to concede. The less said the better.

We got ourselves into the game after 10 minutes when conor whelan slipped in Nathan choi who slotted the ball into the corner with an excellent finish to make it 1-3. That settled us a bit and the lads responded with an increase in attitude and intensity, spurred on by captain for the day Thomas Power, who showed he wasn't going to let villa dictate the play. We did concede another avoidable goal before the break but at least we were now matching our visitors on the basis of play.

The second half started the way the first finished, an even game with both sides looking to attack. We got another back after good work from Conor Whelan saw him drawing in the foul and getting barged in the back with the referee pointing to the spot. Thomas Power slotted the penalty to make it 2-4, and shortly after we had a chance to pull another back when Nathan Choi was put through, but the villa defender got back to put pressure on him and prevent him getting a clean striker away. Villa got a 5th and made the finish to the game comfortable for them

What a fantastic start to the season across all age groups with some brilliant football, great teamwork and plenty of goals on display from our Park Rangers teams! 💙💛
🔵 U11D League
Park Rangers 4-1 Ferrybank
The boys hit the ground running and produced a superb team performance from the first whistle. A quickfire first-half hat-trick from Luke Doody ⚽️⚽️⚽️ put Park Rangers firmly in control before Daniel Keane ⚽️ added a fourth early in the second half. Ferrybank grabbed a consolation goal, but the lads never lost control and saw out an impressive victory. A fantastic effort from the entire squad and one the coaches were very proud of.

Fantastic First outing for this young side. Saw a Draw achieved.

Despite the wet conditions, Park Rangers produced an excellent display against a strong Stradbally side. A quickfire double from Nathan ⚽️⚽️ put Park Rangers in control before Billy ⚽️ restored a two-goal cushion just before the break. The second half saw Ollie M ⚽️ and Joey ⚽️ add further goals to complete a deserved victory.

De La Salle 2-3 Park Rangers
A brilliant opening day victory for the U13C side. Park Rangers dominated the first half with Rian O'Meara ⚽️⚽️ scoring twice to give us a deserved 2-0 lead at the break.
De La Salle responded strongly after half-time and reduced the deficit from the penalty spot, but the lads showed great character to weather the pressure. With five minutes remaining, Kyle Carroll ⚽️ produced a stunning free kick into the top corner to make it 3-1. De La Salle pulled one back late on, but Park Rangers held firm for a deserved win.

De La Salle 2-1 Park Rangers
A very competitive contest from start to finish. Park Rangers took the lead through James Giffney ⚽️, whose superb long-range free kick found the net in the first half.
De La Salle equalised from a corner before half-time and edged ahead with 15 minutes remaining. Despite hitting the post and crossbar and creating several late chances, Park Rangers were unlucky not to take a share of the spoils. An excellent effort from all 12 players involved in a game where a draw would not have been undeserved.

Park Rangers 5 - 2 Stradbally

The opening league game of the season gave the brave wet parents plenty of goals to enjoy in a highly competitive game against tough opposition from Stradbally…. The game started off in miserable rain but with the brighter skies above came a flurry of goals….

The match went from no score to us being 3-1 up in a 4 minute period shortly before half time..
A quick fire double from Nathan ably assisted by Billy and Ollie M had us take a 2 nil lead before a lapse of concentration and a superb effort from 50 yards out by one of Stradbally’s midfielders Saw it back to the minimum margin…
Some fantastic team play then led to Ollie finding a pocket of space and playing a superb ball thru to Billy to restore the 2 goal cushion before half time…

Into the 2nd half and tireless work from Conor W set up Ollie who finished well before another fabulous team move ended up with a great ball in to Joey who was fouled before he could make contact with the ball and was duely awarded a penalty…. Joey picked himself up and coolly dispatched the ball to the left corner to give us a nice cushion with a quarter of an hour left….

To their credit Stradbally kept going and were rewarded with another well taken finish with 10 minutes left to keep us honest but we managed to see it out well in the end…

A super team performance overall with Ryan sweeping up behind a solid back line of Tomas, Louis, Eamonn & Christopher…..
Our midfield of Conor Mc, Thomas, Olllie M & Conor W worked hard all day and set the platform for many attacks, with our wide men Joey & Nathan proving a threat and providing great ball for Will & Billy up top who knitted things together and were always available as an outlet for the others….

Huge thanks to our visitors Stradbally who provided a stiff test in a game played in a competitive but fair manner…

De la salle 2-3 Park Rangers u13B

A fantastic way to open up the season with a great display from the lads. No official ref today so we agreed to play it competitive with a de la salle club man taking the whistle. We started the game much better than our opponents, playing some good stuff and getting our passing going with Sean Pierce and Bea Lynch controlling things in the middle and every player showing for the ball. We looked far more likely to make the breakthrough and that we did when Leo Duffin poked the ball in behind for the energetic Rian O Meara to nip in and calmly slot it away. Rian doubled our lead less than 10 minutes later putting the defender under pressure and getting on the end of a ball he had no right to win to lift it over the keeper. 2-0 at ht and fully deserved.
The second half was more of what we expected from de la salle, they put us under pressure straight from the whistle. We had to defend a lot more and they were gifted a soft penalty 10 minutes in which they slotted to make it 2-1. I've seen many teams collapse when that happens, especially when our opponents were in the ascendancy, but our lads stood up to the challenge and defended well and managed to settle the game again. We went 3-1 up with 5 minutes to go when Kyle Carroll hung a free kick into the top corner after the ever running rian o meara was fouled on the edge of the box, de la salle pulled one back with 2 minutes to go with an excellent strike, but we held on for the win.
