⚽🌍 Ballyduff AFC Mini World Cup 2026 🌍⚽

Great Mini World Cup group games this evening – well done to all the players and coaches involved!

Both the younger and older age group teams representing Brazil, Spain, France, Germany, Argentina, Portugal completed their group matches tonight and, apart from a brief downpour, it was a fantastic evening of football and fun.

The Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Finals will take place on Saturday as part of our End of Season Awards Day, giving every team a chance to make the final stages of the competition.

We expect the games to start around 2:00–3:00pm, ahead of the Awards Ceremony after 4:00pm. Exact times will be confirmed closer to the date.

Thanks to everyone who helped make tonight such a success. Looking forward to an exciting finish to the Mini World Cup on Saturday! ⚽🏆

Ballyduff AFC - Johnville

2️⃣–3️⃣

We welcomed league leaders Johnville today and were unlucky to come away with a 3–2 defeat in a cracking five-goal contest.

We got off to the perfect start after 10 minutes when our in-form striker Nigel Power found the net following great work from Brian Roche.

Johnville responded strongly, but our back four of Jimmy, Lenny, David and Neil stood firm, while Chicky pulled off some fine saves. The visitors did manage to break through twice before the interval to lead 2–1 at half-time.

With Emmet and Mark taking control in midfield, we came out strong in the second half and soon got our reward. Nigel was on target again with a brilliant header to level the game at 2–2. Playing some of our best football of the season, John Smith and Kieran O’Keefe both went close before Johnville edged ahead once more to make it 3–2.

Paul Cleary and David Murphy came off the bench and both made valuable contributions in what was a strong overall performance, despite the narrow loss.

Plenty of positives to take as we look ahead to the next game.

⚽🚶‍♂️ WALKING FOOTBALL OFF TO A GREAT START AT BALLYDUFF AFC! 🚶‍♀️⚽

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for the first evening of Walking Football at Ballyduff AFC. It was fantastic to see such a positive turnout, plenty of smiles, and great enthusiasm from all involved.

Walking Football is a fun, social, and inclusive way to stay active, improve fitness, and enjoy the game at a pace that suits everyone. Whether you’re returning to football after many years or simply looking for a new way to keep active, everyone is welcome.

Following the success of our first session, Walking Football will move to its regular weekly slot from next week:

If you missed the first night, don’t worry – come along next Wednesday and give it a try. No experience necessary, just bring yourself and a pair of trainers!

We look forward to seeing even more faces in the weeks ahead.

🚧 CLUBHOUSE EXTENSION – WORK HAS BEGUN! 🚧

We are delighted to share that construction has officially started on the long-awaited Ballyduff AFC Clubhouse Extension with Hugh Maher Construction.

This exciting development will provide improved facilities for our players, members, volunteers, and the wider community for many years to come.

The extension will include:

🏋️ Gym Facility
🤝 Community Meeting Rooms
⚽ Female Changing Rooms
🚿 Female Shower Area
♿ Disabled Toilet Facilities
☀️ Balcony Area
🏃‍♀️Football for All facilities

These first photos show the foundation works now underway as we take the first steps towards making this project a reality.

A huge thank you to everyone who is supporting the club, contributing to fundraising efforts, and helping us reach this stage. We look forward to sharing regular updates as the build progresses.
