Great first outing for the 2021 Vikings recording a big win in the Munster Derby!

A quick turn around and we’re back in action this Saturday versus Galway Tribesmen Rugby League

Will be another big game and preparations begin this Wednesday at 7:30 at Dungarvan Rugby Club!!

The first Vikings VIII of 2021 has been named!

We take on at 2pm tomorrow afternoon in Douglas RFC.

Make sure you catch the game live on page. The stream is set to start about 5 minutes before kick off.

The Vikings and the Bulls have only ever faced off once since being re established in 2017 with the Vikings coming out on top.

We are also the only two teams in Munster so it will be a battle of pride between these two sides. Make sure you don’t miss it!!

Another young gun
Pete also joined the Vikings this year and has nicknamed himself “Pete Rees-Zammit”. No pressure Pete but you better live up to the nick name.

Pete plays rugby union out of and is moving up to senior level this year. Again another young guy trying to sweeten his way into the team has chosen as his favourite player. We’re beginning to think these young lads don’t know any rugby league players 🤔

Dazed and Confused is a movie that describes Pete’s life and we think this is accurate!!

Looking forward to seeing pete in action next week when the league begins!!

Darragh joined the Vikings this year and is looking forward to getting involved. It’s not very often we welcome people from Waterpark but we think he looks better in blue!

The Good the bad and the ugly is a movie that describes Darragh’s life and is also how he describes how he plays ball.

We have one of our new young guns up next. is not only one of our youngest players he also has the hardest name to pronounce.

Currently playing with U18 team, Bueno is a great addition to the Vikings.

Eoin is certain we are going to come out on top this season. His favourite rugby league player is Vikings player/coach and we think Bueno is trying to sweet talk his way into the team!

Naming his favourite movie as Jurassic Park because, we quote “some of my teammates are as old as dinosaurs”

Next up we got oh wait sorry that’s actually

Josh had a summer in Australia and came back thinking he was Kalyn Pongas less talented twin brother.

You may ask who gave him the nickname but it was in fact himself. Josh loves a good goose step but is yet to fool anyone with one!

We asked Josh if you could pick a movie that would describe your life he said it would be the Notebook - “an achingly tender story about the enduring power of love, a story of miracles that that will stay with you forever.”

Josh is eyeing up the half back jerseys for this year and will be in flying form when the league starts in just over a week!

Next up we got A.K.A America’s Sweetheart. We are not sure why this is Joey’s nickname but are certain there is a good story behind it!

This is America’s Sweethearts first year with the and he is confident that we are going to finish up in first place!

His favourite movie is The Hunger Games because he is known to have hanger management issues!

Joeys favourite rugby player is and has personally requested that we get Sam to give him a shout out. Sam is Joey’s hero and we hope he’ll get this message!
