Some amazing lessons today!! First was Flex and Sophie, they were working on rhythm and changing direction around a course (thereā€™s a video up). Then we had Franny and Thomas, Franny told me she was a little nervous about jumping as the last time Thomas jumped he hurt himself a little, so we made the lesson super achievable and now pressure, they did amazing. Then finally with Orlaghā€™s first lesson on Luna and I did throw them both in the deep end, but they did absolutely brilliantly, Luna is going to be some little jumper!

Sophie and her Flex in their lesson today!! Sophie has worked on this pony for a few years, and there have been a lot of downs. But through sheer determination of a child sheā€™s produced this amazing pony! In todayā€™s lesson we had one of my favourite exercises, but with a twist, she had to jump what I shouted, so having to act in the moment after a fence. They did amazingly!

Bare minimum according to us! We make sure our horses have forage at all times! We provide a Trickle Net in all the stables, the soft mesh and small holes encourage chewing which helps the formation of saliva. Itā€™s been proven that per kilo of hay has x4 times more chewing motions compared to per kilo of oats. Horses need to eat for 16 to 18 hours a day, itā€™s how they have been evolved.
With us the Five Freedoms are in our livery contracts, and Forage, Friends and Freedom (the 3 fs) are also the core ethos of the yard. In this day and age modern livery yards need to put the horseā€™s welfare on top and not what is convenient to the human.

I am speechless!!! called into the yard today with this amazing gift for me! A gorgeous portrait of my best boy, Arthur! Itā€™s absolutely beautiful, and itā€™s now hanging proudly on my stair well so everyone can see!! We had such a fun time with Niall during the photo shoot the other weekend and canā€™t wait to get him out again!
