What an incredible achievement by young Aaron Payne! 👏🚴♂️
Over five unforgettable days in early April, Aaron completed his amazing “2 Canal Cycle” — cycling more than 300km along the Royal and Grand Canals to raise funds for Comans Swimming Club and his national school in Tulsk.
What makes this story even more special is that this dream began almost three years ago, when Aaron first said he wanted to take on the canals himself. Since then, he showed remarkable patience, determination and belief in himself, never giving up on the idea.
Through very tough weather, sore legs, punctures, falls and long days on the bike, Aaron kept going with unbelievable courage and positivity. Supported every step of the way by his family, he showed maturity and resilience far beyond his years.
By the time he reached the finish line in Clondara, Aaron had not only completed an extraordinary challenge — he had also raised over €5,000 for two very worthy causes, and presented Comans swim club with their huge cheque at the In House fun training gala today.
A huge well done to Aaron, and to all his family and supporters who helped make this incredible journey possible. You should all be immensely proud. 💙
An inspiration to everyone and proof that big dreams can start very young ❤️🥰 Connacht Swimming Jennifer Payne
