A family affair in Garryowen FC
🩵 Three sets of brothers. One club. One rugby family.
There’s something pretty special about seeing three sets of brothers pulling on the jersey yesterday and playing together for our adult teams 🏉. In the MSCC game we had 3 Fitzgerald brothers on the pitch together, Bryan, Des & Mark and then in the Transfield Cup game we had Ritchie & Jack Costello and also Sean and Daniel Magee. What makes it even more special? They’re all homegrown club players who have been with us since their minis days, growing up through the age grades, learning the game, making lifelong friends and creating memories along the way — and now representing the club together in adult rugby and making huge contributions to their club.
We couldn’t be more proud of every one of them and the journey they’ve taken with us. We also have the Barry brothers Tom & Ed and of course the Wood brothers Alex, Gordon & Tom.
From little boots on the pitch to playing alongside their brothers in our senior teams… this is what being a family club is all about. 🩵
