The Rockmount Under 14A team qualified for the Pat Cronin Cup Final after beating a very good Watergrassshill team, 5-4 on penalties, in the semi-final on Wednesday evening 👏🏼

Watergrassshill started the game the better, taking the game to Rockmount, who slowly came into the game going 1 up through Jayden O Sullivan from a super through ball from Danny Twomey ⚽️

However Watergrassshill pressed hard and equalised before half time to leave it 1-1 at the break.

The second half started with both teams playing some great football and Rockmount went 2 -1 up after a corner from Danny Twomey which was headed in by Jayden O Sullivan for his second goal.

Watergrassshill pushed hard for an equaliser, and it came following a corner and the teams could not be separated after extra time 😅

Rockmount's goalkeeper Jack Smith became the hero by saving a penalty to send Rockmount to the final 🥅🥳

Thanks to Watergrassshill for a great game of football and to our continued support at all games 💚💛

The lads continue their cup journey on Sunday morning where they will meet Pearse Celtic in the final 🏆 More details to follow 🔰🔰

Today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the proud history of Rockmount AFC as work officially commences on our new all-weather facility and spectator area in partnership with JNC Premier Pitches & Fencing

In our 102-year history, this is the largest and most ambitious development project ever undertaken by our club. It is a landmark moment that will help shape the future of Rockmount AFC for generations to come.

As we break ground on this exciting development, we do so with immense gratitude and respect for all those who came before us. For over a century, dedicated volunteers, coaches, committee members, players, supporters and families have given their time, energy and passion to build the club we are privileged to be part of today. Their vision, sacrifice and commitment laid the foundations upon which we now stand.

This project is not simply about new facilities. It is about honouring that legacy while investing in the future. It is about ensuring that the young boys and girls who wear the Rockmount jersey in the years ahead have the very best opportunities to learn, develop, compete and create memories that will last a lifetime.

The new all-weather pitch will provide year-round access to football, while the enhanced spectator area will improve the experience for everyone who comes through our gates to support the club. Together, these developments will strengthen every part of Rockmount AFC, from our youngest academy players to our senior teams.

Moments like this do not happen overnight. They are the result of years of planning, hard work and belief from so many people who share a common goal — to leave Rockmount AFC in a stronger position for the next generation than we found it.

Today we celebrate progress, but we also celebrate our history, our people and our community. The work starts now, and we cannot wait to watch this vision become a reality.

The future of Rockmount AFC is bright, and this investment is for every player, volunteer, supporter and family who calls this club home.
