Blarney ends Avondales 23 year run in MSL
Senior Premier Division.

Today’s Dale Match Report.

Avondale United 1 Blarney 2
Blarney qualified for Premier football following a 2-1 over Avondale at sundrenched Ringmahon Park on Saturday afternoon. Blarney got off to a flyer after 2 mins when a long ball from Connolly was allowed to bounce and Lee Kelly'OBI sprinted into space and lobbed it over Sean Barron.
On 20 mins the crossbar saved Avondale when a well struck shot from Dylan O'Sullivan came back off the post. Deep into injury time in opening half a ball was left very short to the dale keeper and it allowed Craig Walsh in on goal and he rounder Barron to slot home to an empty net..
Avondale dominated the second half and on 50 mins Eoin Redmond headed home from a corner. On 55 mins a good save from Ben Maher from Jack Clarke as Avondale seached for the equaliser Matt McKevitt saw his shot touched over by the keeper .Avondale tried hard but Blarney too their credit stood firm to see it out.
The Dales will have to regroup and the character of the players should want them to make an instant comeback for this proud club.
