Douglas RFC AGM THIS THURSDAY.

The annual general meeting of Douglas RFC will take place this Thursday 28th May, 7:30 pm in St Columbas Hall. All members welcome and encouraged to attend.

We were delighted to welcome a large crew from recently. Thanks a million to everyone who helped out, clearing back sections to allow our native woodland around our pitches to thrive!

Douglas RFC were delighted to join with the project to plant 2,500 native Irish trees on our site here in Castletreasure.

This will help to increase biodiversity across our grounds and create a new forest lasting long into the future 🟢⚫⚪

Junior cup heartbreak.

Our J1 squad came up agonisingly short on Sunday against Div 1 side Muskerry in the Munster Junior cup.

Camped in our own 22 for much of the first 30 minutes, some huge phases of defence denied a big Muskerry pack multiple scores in the first half. Muskerry eventually scored a try on the 26th minute but wouldn't hold onto the lead for long.

Some lovely phases of play saw Douglas score 3 tries in quick succession. Charlie Devine touched down twice with Ben Costigan also scoring from short range. Patrick Carey scored two conversions leaving the half time score Douglas 19- 7 Muskerry.

The second half started much like the first with Muskerry having the majority of possession. The pressure eventually told with Muskerry scoring twice to bring the game back to 19 all.

A beautiful Peter Devine try on the right wing brought what we hoped would be the winning score, the conversion going wide, leaving Douglas 5 points up with only minutes remaining.

It wasn't to be however, with Muskerry crashing over deep into injury time. The conversion breaking Douglas hearts to knock us out of the Junior cup.

A horrible way to end the season, but a performance everyone can all be proud of. Thanks to all of our supporters for coming along to watch and to Muskerry for the fantastic game. We'll be back stronger next season. 🟢⚫⚪

A huge win for our J1's as we make club history and progress to the next round of the Munster Junior Cup!

There were 5 tries in total with Cian Twomey (2), Ben O'Flynn, Peter Devine & Rory Lynch all touching down. Patrick Carey converted 3 and slotted 3 further penalties to secure a 40-24 home win!

Thanks to for the great game. Next up is a home tie against Div 1 .
