Some of our U11s had a nice morning training session in the sun today as we continue to keep fitness levels up through the off season and get the boys ready for the Brymbo Lodge tournament next month.

Coach Ali said “Extra training session for us this morning and the lads put in superb effort considering the hot conditions. The group worked on passing combinations, team buildup play, headers and shooting accuracy before putting these skills into action in a small sided game at the end”

We will look at having more of these sessions throughout the weeks leading to the new season and also arrange a couple of friendlies too

Our U11's had their first training session back on grass this year as we keep pushing to develop their knowledge and fitness for next season.

At the end of the session we were proud to present our Trainer of the month to Jensen, who was nominated by the coaches for his work rate, commitment and respect to the coaches.

Well done Jensen 👏🏻

Mini Kickers is ONE! 🎂⚽️

A whole year of tiny boots, big grins, wobbly first tries… and those "I DID IT!" moments.

This week a family member said to me: "Angela, you've got the patience of a saint."

And honestly… when you're working with 3–6 year olds, patience isn't a personality trait — it's part of the kit. 😅

Because they're still learning how to listen (sometimes), take turns (with big feelings), join in with a group, and build confidence alongside their friends.

They're not turning up Ronaldo-level — they're turning up to have fun, learn the basics, and enjoy being part of something. And that's exactly what we're here for.

Happy 1st birthday, Mini Kickers — and a huge thank you to all the parents, children, and family members who come along and support each week. Here's to more fun and learning. 🫶

Well.... I think that is what they call a wrap 🎬

On a lovely warm evening at the hallowed ground of Ysgol Estyn our U11's hosted Rhos Aelwyd in not only their final game of the season but their final game as 🔴 and ⚪

The results didn't really matter too much tonight as the coaches just wanted the boys to end a good season on a high and enjoy themselves in the sunshine.

Strong performances were shown by both teams and POTM's were hard to decide (yet again!)

However, 🔴's lost 2-0 and won 2-1 with Arthur and Osian getting the goals. ⚪ ended with a 4-0 and 4-1 loss, Luka scoring direct from a corner to end his season on a high!

It got better for Luka as POTM was given to two players in each team which he shared with Alfie for ⚪'s and super defensive teammates Jacob J and Taxi for 🔴's.

All the coaches are so proud of all the boys and how much they have developed over the season. We would also like to say a big THANK YOU to all the parents too, who turn up week in week out, support the players in all types of weather and also help the coaches set up/put away the pitches when we are at home.

It has been a rollercoaster of a season but we look forward to next season when our U11's will start their new team and U12's will have their first taste of league football.

A hot one down at Llay this morning for our U11's and it was a major factor in their overall results unfortunately.

Both 🔴 and ⚪ showed glimpses of the Hope Dragons we know and love, but with the sun beaming down it sapped all their energy as the looked to make their way back into their respective games.

Noah and Alfie got another goal each to add to their impressive numbers this season, but a bit of a baron weekend in all for Hope Dragons.

POTM went to Arthur and Marlow this weekend for their dogged performances. Arthur was especially good with his communication and leading his team forward whilst Marlow put in a leaders performance and worked well on his tackles and tracking back.

No training this Tuesday as we have a rearranged fixture with Rhos instead which ends our U11 season. Hope to see many of you there supporting the boys as our season comes to a close.

A weekend off from our usual U11 duties gave us an opportunity to look at next season as we played Coedpoeth in a 9v9 friendly.

We had a nice trip to Ysgol Penygelli this morning and it seemed to be turning into a lovely morning, until midway through the second half as the heavens opened, but this did not stop our 🐉 as they dominated majority of the play in a 1-4 win.

The boys, who consisted of 🔴 and ⚪ Year 6 players, seemed to enjoy the bigger pitch as we played some really good football and had an incredible amount of chances to take the lead.

Our first goal came from Jac midway through the first half, as we constantly pushed forward to get an opener. Noah, who was in the heart of midfield today, bagged our second with a smart finish and meant we would go into half time with a 2-0 lead.

Some changes to the second half, including the coaches, saw us take a little pressure as Coedpoeth stepped up their game but it wasn't enough as a lovely right wing cross from Noah found Alfie at the back post who finished really well.

Our final goal came from a persistent Elis, who managed to squeeze his shot past the Coedpoeth keeper and into the bottom corner.

The coaches were extremely proud of the team today and hope that this is a sign of things to come for the new season. The coaches were particularly pleased with the communication on the pitch, the desire to win and get forward and also their positional awareness.

No POTM this week as the coaches decided that it would be too difficult as every single player in the team could have easily won it! Well done boys 👏🏻👏🏻
