Wrexham Amateur Athletics Club was founded in 1954, the year Roger Bannister broke the 4 minute mile. Over the years the club has grown from strength to strength, offering all manner of athletic disciplines whether this is on the track, field, race running or cross country. The club offers individuals a chance to improve their health and fitness and develop their talent, as well as meeting new peo

ple and trying something new. All training sessions are organised and delivered by fully trained coaches. These coaches can best develop talent and advise on both correct training programmes and competition schedules. Club training takes places every Tuesday and Thursday, between 6-8pm at the Queensway Stadium. Sessions and competitions are held to cater for all age groups, from U'11s through to Senior and Master athletes. For more information on specific training times for these age groups, please contact the club. The club offers members a comprehensive fixtures programme and competes in the following leagues/events:

Welsh Senior League
Welsh Junior League
National Young Athletes League
North Wales Cross Country League
Welsh Masters Athletics Association Fixtures
North Staffordshire Cross Country League
Borders Road Race League
Fell Running

as well as a host of open meetings, road races and all regional, inter-regional, national championships and UK championships across all disciplines.

Training Queensway Stadium, Tue 4th Nov
Queensway Stadium have contacted the club to inform us that most of the track is covered with leaves and not really runnable. Looking at the anticipated bad weather tonight together with the leaves and also being short of coaches, we’ve decided to cancel all club training at the Queensway this evening.

The biggest club at the now sold out Helena Tipping Wrexham 10k is Wrexham Athletic Club, closely followed by Penyfford Run Club and Oswestry Olympians Athletic and Triathlon Club.

We have been informed by the Staff from the Leisure Centre that the track is quite wet and will likely remain so for training tonight. They have requested anyone training on the track to wear spikes.

I've been informed by the staff at the Queensway that the track is already freezing over and with the temperature still falling we have had to cancel training again this evening.

It’ll not surprise you that the track and infield at the Queensway are still under a layer of snow. With the temperatures predicted to drop below freezing we’ve agreed that training tonight at the Queensway will have to be cancelled.
