Scribbleton families, WE NEED YOUR HELP! We're campaigning with the Association of Indoor Play (AIP) to get VAT on children’s indoor play reduced from 20% to 0%.
But we need you to get behind us and support this, and us.
The AIP is calling on the Government to make children’s indoor play ZERO RATED for VAT.
At the moment, indoor children’s play is subject to 20% VAT and for small independent businesses like us that has a huge impact.
But this isn’t just about Scribbleton.
Think about your most loved indoor play spaces, the place your kids ask to go back to again and again, where you meet friends, spend time with family... whether that's Scribbleton or another fantastic play venue, this change could make a real difference to its future.
Zero rated VAT could help indoor play businesses stay open, keep prices as affordable as possible for families, invest back into their facilities, create new experiences, support local jobs, provide opportunities for socialisation and connection with friends, provide safe spaces for children with additional needs and continue giving every child fantastic places to play, learn and grow.
Because children’s play isn’t just 'something to do'. Through play, children build confidence, develop their imagination, practise communication and social skills, make friends, learn and, most importantly, get the chance to simply be children year round.
