Our late friend Paul Cole would use his famous mantra here. Get up, show up, dress up…
If you’re not taking part yourself, shimmy on down to Marine Bar Whitehead for the debrief. Happening from 4.30 ish onwards. Treat yourself to the best burgers in Ireland brought to you by WCRC Burger Crew using a mix of passion and pure skill- they really know their onions 🤣🧅🍔. Live music for your entertainment and delight and plenty of craic.
Saturday is sorted.

ONLY TWO MORE SLEEPS! 🎄🎅

The excitement is building… and with around 50 Santas, elves, helpers and assorted eejits already signed up, it’s looking like this year’s Santa Fun Run is going to be a cracker! 🎉

If you haven’t registered yet, please use the QR code and sign up. We encourage you all to register rather than just turn up on the day, as it helps us plan and generally keep track of how many festive fools we’re responsible for!

And remember… this is not a serious run. If you’re expecting chipped timing, personal bests and elite athletic performance, you’re at the wrong event. The only chips you’ll need on the day are Jess’ Plaice, the best chippy for miles around!

This is a social gathering, a family day out, a festive walk with friends, and for some of the more enthusiastic among us, a gentle jog between refreshments.

Speaking of refreshments… you won’t go thirsty! Enjoy pick me ups at the Fire Station, Jubilee Wood and The Marine Bar!

Our route takes us from the Fire Station, up Islandmagee Road, along Slaughterford Road, into Jubilee Wood, back onto Islandmagee Road, down the hill, along the seafront and home to the Marine Bar.

So, whether you want to dress up and take part or simply stand and cheer the eejits on from the sidelines, we’d love to see you there💛

Now get signed up, get your Santa suit ready, and let’s make this the best fun run yet!

Who’s taking part in this? The culinary genius Burger Crew from WCRC will be cooking up a storm of the very best burgers afterwards at the Marine, where all roads and races seem to lead to. 🏃‍♂️🥇🍔🍻

Who says Santa only comes out in December?

Dust off your Santa suit, grab your elves and join us NEXT WEEKEND for our Santa Fun Run!

3 miles, plenty of laughs, fancy dress and questionable seasonal timing. What could possibly go wrong? 😆

Here are the official race times from Cork Ocean to City which took place on Saturday 30th May.
Our two WCRC crews put in spectacular performances over the main 22km distance.
Our male crew The 4 Oarsmen of the ACRApolis
brought home trophies for both the fastest ODY ( fixed seat category) and fastest overall veteran crew ( not specific to boat type) with a time of 2hours 01 minutes and 47 seconds.
Our mixed crew MayContainNuts finished 5th in the ODY category and 38th out of 64 boats with a very respectable time of 2hours 41 minutes and 45 seconds.
Huge respect for each and every crew member for turning up to those early and endless winter erg sessions. Dedication in spades and a lesson in rowing beyond the blister! Cork Harbour Festival & Ocean to City

Not a good news post. There are thieves afoot around the boat park.
Our safety boat was sabotaged overnight. Fuel line stolen along with any fuel in the boat, rendering the boat useless until a replacement line is purchased.
There will be no rant to follow. Just be aware that this is happening and let’s not make it easy for thieves.
