This Catch the Bus Month is an opportunity to get creative and move more, thinking about how the bus can be part of a more active, healthy and sustainable journey 🚌🎨

Cornwall residents are invited to enter Design Your Bus Stop and Bus Wrap Competition, with the chance to see your artwork brought to life.

Choosing the bus instead of driving can be a great way to build more movement into your day – walk to the bus stop, hop on board, then walk the rest of the way 🚶‍♀️🚌

Celebrate Catch the Bus Month with Transport for Cornwall This Catch the Bus Month, Transport for Cornwall is inviting Cornwall residents of all ages to get creative and help brighten up our public transport network. We're launching an exciting competition to design: A

It’s been a busy week convening influential place leaders across Cornwall – yesterday Penzance, today St Austell where we convened 21 partners from 9 local organisations at Young People Cornwall for St Austell Leadership training day two. All part of our ambitious place partnership work with Sport England , and the energy, ideas and conversations built brilliantly on everything we started on day one 🌱

Systems change is complex. It asks us to build trust, stay curious, listen to different perspectives and have the courage to try new ways of working - but when we come together like this with a shared purpose, the possibilities are huge💡

A big thank you once again to Gareth Dix of Active Devon and to Mark Sears for facilitating us so well. We're looking forward to seeing how this group continues to grow, connect and turn these conversations into action on behalf of local people and communities.

Thanks to everyone for taking the time out of busy diaries to attend - this is just the beginning for St Austell and we can't wait to see where the journey takes us, building on progress to date which is being captured here: https://www.activecornwall.org/working-in-place/working-in-place-st-austell/

Anyone can experience suicidal feelings – whatever their situation, job or background.

This World Su***de Prevention Day, we’re supporting Mind to encourage a shared moment — a moment to pause, check in, and support one another.

For those involved in sport and physical activity, knowing how to start a conversation, offer support and signpost someone to appropriate help can make a real difference. That’s why Sunflowers Su***de Support are delivering a practical and engaging online workshop:
- Making Every Conversation Count: Su***de Prevention for Sports Clubs
- Thursday 15 October 2026
- 1pm–2pm
- Online
The session will help people involved in sport and physical activity build confidence in su***de prevention, supportive conversations and signposting to appropriate support.

📲 Find out more or book your place:

There’s also a helpful resource specifically for sport:
The On Your Side – Su***de Prevention in Sport Toolkit from the Hub of Hope provides practical guidance and resources to help people involved in sport recognise the signs, start conversations about su***de and support someone who may be struggling.

Explore the On Your Side toolkit → hubofhope.co.uk/OnYourSide/

If you need support, or you’re worried about someone else, help is available. Visit mind.org.uk/su***de for information and advice.

What a day for the Active Cornwall team! We kicked off our team day at Trelya Cornwall with a focus on our work in Penzance (see more at https://www.activecornwall.org/working-in-place/working-in-place-penzance/) before heading out for an afternoon of volunteering with the fantastic Growing Links - Street Food Project & Community Garden where we started assembling their new yurt!

A full day of teamwork, community spirit, getting stuck in and plenty of laughs along the way! Big thanks to our wonderful partners for having us – we loved every minute and the home grown lunch was delicious!

Today we hosted Penzance Leadership training day two, part of our ambitious place partnership work with Sport England, and what a way to continue the journey!

Building on the conversations and connections from day one, 23 influential leaders from 14 organisations spent the day challenging thinking, sharing perspectives and exploring what genuine systems leadership looks like in practice – and, most importantly, how we can work differently and more collaboratively to create lasting, sustainable change for the people and communities of Penzance💡🤝

A big thank you once again to and Gareth Dix of Active Devon and to Mark Sears for facilitating us so brilliantly, to Trelya Cornwall for hosting us, and to everyone who participated with such openness, honesty and enthusiasm.

Systems change isn't easy. It takes trust, collaboration, courage and a willingness to keep going when things get complex, but the potential impact makes it so worthwhile. We're excited to see what comes next as this group continues its journey together - it really feels like the start of something special for Penzance, building on progress to date which is being captured here: https://www.activecornwall.org/working-in-place/working-in-place-penzance/
