Unfortunately, in order to minimise risk to members and staff, it has been decided that with effect from tomorrow, Tuesday, the reception area and driving range will close. The course will remain open for members for as long as Government and England Golf guidance supports this.

Toilet and washing facilities will be available from 8am to 5pm.

A member of staff will be available in the clubhouse from 8am to 5pm in case of emergency.

Take-away drinks etc will no longer be available.

Our plan had been to invite all previous members to join us in a free round of golf next weekend to say goodbye to the club in a grand fashion, sadly this will not be possible.

A very big thank you to everyone that has supported Killiow over the years. We have received so many expressions of sadness at our closing; it has been very moving.

We wish you all the best for the future and look forward to seeing you on a golf course somewhere.

Not the way we wanted to say goodbye but beyond our control.

Very sad to have to share the message that went to Killiow members yesterday evening. It cannot be overstated the effort that the KPGC committee put in to getting the new club off the ground. The support of the Killiow membership has also been fantastic, but eventually they were beaten by something outside of their control.

Dear Members
It is with great sadness that we have agreed today that we cannot continue our efforts to keep Killiow open...
All of our projected income sources, green fees, bar, driving range etc, will likely take a significant reduction given the daily news updates.

We would like to thank everyone for all your efforts to keep the club alive, it has been greatly appreciated, but we have been beaten by matters outside of our control...
Kind Regards
Killiow Park Golf Club Committee

As a consequence, Killiow Golf Club and Driving Range will be closing its doors for the last time on 31st March.

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT

I'm sure that most of you will have heard the rumours that something is changing at Killiow. Over the past few weeks we have been in negotiations with a group of members who wish to set up a members club at Killiow.

I am please to announce that an agreement has been reached which will result in a new members club being established. The new club is using Killiow's original name of Killiow Park Golf Club and will take over the running of the golf course and clubhouse on 1st April 2020.

Details of the new operation are being presented to existing members on Sunday 23rd February and New Members will be able to join from Monday 24th (with immediate access to the golf course). Preliminary information is that membership renewal fees will remain unchanged and a New Members deal of £350 (plus affiliation and insurance - £22.50) will be offered.

Killiow Estates Ltd. is fully supportive of this move and wishes Killiow Park Golf Club every success in their new venture.

More information to follow.

Putting some of our newest juniors through their paces and getting them ready for their first preseason fixture at Newquay Golf Club in an inter club “Super 6’s” Fun Team event during half term week. Any junior from Killiow wishing to be entered into the selection process will need to tell me ASAP as I’m announcing the team by the weekend!

The course is drying nicely with a fresh breeze. However driving your trolley into a pond is still likely to be a dampening experience. Well done Mash!

Today was Captains' Drive-in where we say thank you to Tony, Mel and Major and welcome Andy, Gill, Bernard and Sophia.

After the 'old' captans put out and the 'new' captains drive off, we play a 6 hole cross country competition. Some challenging holes and some easy ones. Some found some interesting spots.

Winners today were Andrew Jenkin with 14 points, Bernard Morris with 13 Points (Best Senior) and Isabelle Wakeling with 13 points (Best Lady).

Killiow Ladies celebrating their success in County competitions this year, Cara Rowe is pictured with the vice-presidents cup after her recent victory over Kath Biddle from St. Enodoc Golf Club played at Perranporth Golf Club.

Also pictured is Shirley Still who won the Millennium Trophy earlier this year.

Pictured with them is Dawn Emmerson who very kindly caddied for both of them.

Well Done Ladies!
