As a new academic year begins, we thought it was the perfect time to reintroduce ourselves… 🌿
We are Boot Up! Outdoor Learning, established in 2009 just outside Falmouth in Perranarworthal (look out for the Olive Grove to find us!)

Boot Up is a bespoke outdoor learning space supporting young people with SEND, as well as those who are currently not attending school. Our specialist alternative provision offers a safe, nurturing and supportive environment where young minds can grow, build confidence and explore education in a different way.
But that’s not all we offer! Alongside our alternative provision, we also welcome our wider community with:

🌱 Home education sessions – Tuesday & Friday mornings
🔥 After-school Campfire Club
🌿 Adult Gardening & Wellbeing Club
🐞 Parent & Toddler Club

We are a small, dedicated team of practitioners with a wealth of experience and a real passion for outdoor learning. Our sessions are wonderfully varied, from bushcraft and campfire cooking to gardening, nature exploration, arts and crafts, and everything in between.

At Boot Up, we believe that learning doesn’t have to happen within four walls. Sometimes, the best learning happens outside, around a fire, in the mud, amongst the trees and with the freedom to explore.

We’re looking forward to another year of learning, growing, connecting and getting muddy together!

Day three of the Royal Cornwall Show… and what a washout it was! 🌧️

As many of you will know, today’s show was unfortunately cancelled due to the severe weather conditions, overnight damage, and the overall state of the site.

It can’t have been an easy decision for the organisers, but we understand how much the weather can impact events like this—especially when you work in the outdoor education industry, as we do. Our thoughts are also with all the other exhibitors, food vendors, and businesses who were affected.

We’re safely back home now, finally dried out, with a well-earned cup of tea in hand. ☕️

Here’s hoping for sunnier skies ahead

Day two at the Royal Cornwall Show brought a little bit of everything, sunshine, showers, and mice… lots of mice!

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, made a Boot Up badge, or created one of our little woodland mice. It’s been fantastic meeting so many of you and seeing your creativity in action.

We were also delighted to see a few more of our past and present students. It’s always a joy to hear what they’ve been up to and to see their smiling faces.

The forecast is looking a little windy for tomorrow, so if you’re heading to the show, lace up those boots and hold on to your hats!
