Last night the medley team wrapped up their season away at Liskeard Inclusive against their C team. Iain, Claire, Joe, Mary, Jack and Ell all played some excellent badminton, delivering a strong all-round performance. The result was a convincing 9-0 win for Torpoint, a great way to sign off the season.

Plenty of quality rallies, even in a hall that felt more like a sauna at times! A big thank you to Liskeard, who were as friendly and welcoming as ever, and have kindly invited our members to join their club sessions on Mondays or Thursdays while our hall is closed. Well played everyone!

🏸 Match Report – Torpoint Medley 🏸

Torpoint Medley were back at home last night against Liskeard Inclusive B, looking to follow up on last week’s 6–3 away win with another strong result.

After the first 5 match ups, we were 3-2 up. Despite losing their first end, Jacky & Mary secured an important point, coming through a tight three-end match 2-1. From there, the team made the most of home advantage (and our own shuttles!), with some excellent mixed pairs performances across the board.

Great wins and solid teamwork from Iain, Joe, Gary, Claire, Jacky & Mary saw Torpoint take a convincing 7–2 victory.

Thanks again to Liskeard for the games — and yes… we’re playing another Liskeard team again next week! 😄🏸

Torpoint Medley were away last night against Liskeard Inclusive B in what turned out to be a very warm (and very fast!) evening of doubles badminton. The quick shuttles made for some challenging rallies, but the team adapted well.

Gary & Mary and Iain & Claire both went the distance in tight three-end matches and came through with wins. Claire & Jacky secured a solid 21–12, 21–12 victory, while Iain, Joe and Gary all added convincing wins to the tally.

A strong all-round team performance saw Torpoint take the match 6–3.

Thanks to Liskeard for an enjoyable and competitive evening of badminton.

Last night the medley team welcomed Tavyside at home for an entertaining, hard-fought encounter. Iain, Ell, Joe, Jacky, Gary and Mary all put in some excellent performances, with rallies flying and plenty of momentum swings throughout the evening. The match finished 3–6 to Tavyside, with the overall points at 322–396, and two of the pairings pushed all the way to three games. A really high-quality night of badminton and another close contest. Well played everyone! 🏸

Tonight the men’s team hosted Liskeard Inclusive B in a cracking, closely fought match. Iain, Jason, Will and Seb all put in strong performances, with several games going right down to the wire. Although the score finished 4–8 to Liskeard, it was far closer than it looks — just 18 points in it overall, 218–236, and two games even stretched to 23! A great battle and another tight contest. Well played, everyone.
