Today was the Annual Commodores cup race at Saltash Sailing Club.
It was a pursuit race north of the bridges.
In glorious sunshine and a decent breeze they set off, only to be thwarted a while later by a giant hole in the wind which suited some very well!
A lovely afternoon to be on the water, no excuse required.
Thanks to everyone for taking part and especially our wonderful crowd of volunteers on the safety boats and the committee boat.

PPSA regatta after party!

What a fantastic days sailing today at the Port of Plymouth Sailing Association Regatta. Hosted by Tamar River Sailing Club and Saltash Sailing Club.
There were almost 50 boats out on the water both in the sound and up river. Racing got off to a slow start but the wind soon filled in and made for some fun racing.
Three bilge keelers took part in the challenge event and they were really challenged by the lack of wind before lunch! It was all good fun and it would be great to see a few more boats take up the challenge next year.
The afternoon races may have been slowed down by the amount of pasties consumed at TRSC at midday…
The day was rounded off very nicely by good food from the galley and music by Cornish Jam at SSC.
Thanks to all who made this event possible with all their hard work.

Don't forget we have the PPSA Regatta this Saturday 18th July!

Lunch will be at Tamar River SC, morning and afternoon racing, and then the live band 'Cornish Jam' will be playing at Saltash SC from 5pm with food available from The Galley.

We are expecting great weather so don't forget to bring your fold up chairs for a fantastic late afternoon in the sun with music, drinks specials, food, and merriment!

Last weekend saw the Saltash Sailing Club hold its annual Dinghy Regatta. The weather played its part with some nice wind but not being absolutely roasting! After racing on Saturday the BBQ was lit and everyone spent an enjoyable time in the evening sun having a cookout and discussing the days event.

32 boats took part across the weekend, which is a fantastic turnout, and it was great to see boats from TRSC, PYC and TMSC.
This event counts towards the Armada Sails Dinghy Traveller Series which culminates with the Royal Western Yacht Club Final Fling in October. Details of the series can be found on the PPSA website.

There were 4 classes slow, medium, fast handicap and the ILCA combined.
Winner of the slow handicap was Grace Davies in a Topper.
Winner of the medium handicap was Steve Robert’s in a Solo.
Winner of the fast handicap was Chris Lloyd in an RS 400.
Winner of the ILCA combined was Sebi Schmidt in an ILCA 7.

Thanks go to all the safety boat crews and the RO, Richard Kingsnorth and Trevor Bardwell-Jones for the use of Inky Paper as committee boat, with line crew, Trevor, Derek, Debbie and Demelza.
Without all these volunteers events like this could not take place and we are incredibly lucky as a club to have so many willing volunteers.
