Positive Response Following Volunteer Drive at Torpoint AFC
Torpoint AFC are delighted to announce a group of key additions as the club moves into an important period ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Following the clubโs recent social media push for additional volunteers, there has been a really encouraging response, with several individuals stepping forward to support the club both on and off the pitch.
The club are pleased to confirm that Simon King has agreed to come on board to assist with sponsorship opportunities alongside Dicky Bays, adding further strength to the commercial side of the football club.
On the development side, Paul Rapson will step down from his role as Under 18s Piran manager as he takes up a new overarching Football Development role within the club. Paul will be supported by newly appointed Under 18s Piran manager Ryan Fice and departing Reserve Team manager Byron Robbins. Together, the trio will help shape and strengthen the player pathway from youth football through to the clubโs senior sides.
Elsewhere within the club structure, Justin Carney will lead liaison with SWAZ, while Callum Bays will expand his current committee responsibilities to oversee equipment and training requirements across the club.
The club has also received strong interest in the Welfare Officer position from both Mark Pratten and Gareth Glanfield. With safeguarding and player welfare remaining a top priority, the club are delighted to have Mark and Gareth leading in this important area.
Developing and maintaining a strong pathway from youth to senior football remains a key focus, not only from a playing and coaching perspective, but also in terms of strengthening relationships across the club. Jamie Brogan will therefore take on the role of Youth Liaison Officer. Jamie has been ever-present throughout the youth and junior sections of the club and has played a major role in building the strongest relationships the club has seen between its sections.
While the response so far has been extremely positive, the club is still looking to strengthen its volunteer network further. In particular, additional support is still needed on the social media side, alongside volunteers for several other important roles across the club.
Everyone at Torpoint AFC would like to thank those who have already stepped forward to support the club and help drive things forward for the future.
